California wildfires

I hope no one on the forum was injured...i am from California and the city i grew up in was burnt down...and i still have family and friends out there..so i worried, but I hope anyone else if you have family or friends there or if you are there...my best wishes

The situation is bad enough that I have decided to stay home with my family tomorrow. My boss can fire me if he likes but my family comes first. I think things will be OK. The firefighters here are remarkably brave men and women, but my mother is very scared and I will not leave her alone in this situation. Hopefully things work out. All prayers though will be gratefully accepted. Thanks. 😀 😀

Lucky for me I live far enough away (Burbank). So besides a lot of smoke in the air not to much to worry about at least for me. But I wish everybody in Simi Valley and San Diego the best.

It was said today that the area of fire is roughly the size of the city of Los Angeles. San Diego is home for me, but I'm going to school in Boston right now. Another girl here from San Diego just heard that her father's house burned down. It's awful. My family tells me that everyone is in pain from breathing the air, and people are wearing surgical masks on the street. I have several friends who were evacuated. I hope this dies down quickly.

All my relatives out there are ok so far, thank God. But I do send my prayers to all of you out there, hope everyone is all right, praying for a good,long, downpour to end the fires, and a quick recovery back to the way things were.

Two things we can depend on here in So Cal: earthquakes and wildfires.

16 deaths, 580,000 acres burned, 1700 homes lost, and no rain in sight.

Two or more of these fires were intentionally set by sickoes.

Its not looking too good up in the mountains. In the Crestline and Arrowhead area. I have friends living with me because they got evacuated. And we might be getting some rain in, but they could make things worse. Thats what the news and fire dept. said. cause that will creat land slides.

If it's a slow soaking rain, it shouldn't be too bad. But, if it's a heavy rain, it will cause major mud/ash slides. One of those very iffy situations. You guys/gals all stay safe out there!

One fire may have started that way, but there's 40+ fires going here right now in So Cal and they're starting to merge into bigger fires due to a shortage of firefighting resources.

The brushcover is very dry and the hot Santa Ana winds here are spreading hot burning embers for miles.

The 1st fireman fatality

The Fires claimed its first fireman death last night,wednesday, and the last count on homes being destroyed over 2100! I heard a fireman recount how they(his crew) tryed to hold the line at these homes in Lake Arrowhead. He said they made a line in front of these homes and the fire came ripping down the mountain side towards the homes, and all they could do was throw the hoses on to the ground, and turn, and run! Not much they can do when they are facing a 70 ft. wall of fire and the home were destroyed in less than minutes,he stated.So how about a big prayer to the family of the fireman who perished, and some help in controlling this disater.
