I did a few quick site updates today, adding over 50 links. More is on the way. But, that's not the reason for this post...at least not directly. In getting the main page ready, it occured to me that it's now been ten years since I started my original tickle site online.
I called that first tiny little site the Tickle Chamber. It started out as just a way to share my own writings. It was all of half a dozen pages when I opened it. It quickly grew and expanded as I decided to share whatever I found so that others could find the same goodies. Within a year, I had my first links directory and let folks know they could find others through my site. We added more and more as time went on. We also moved around a lot, jumping from host to host as our needs changed...or their service did.
Later, some of us decided that we needed a place to share community information and help those who wanted to connect with others know where and how to do so safely. We called that one the Tickle Scene. In it, we had information about gatherings nationwide and a collection of articles about safe play and other scene related concerns.
Finally, we combined and added to what we had between those two sites. We came up with the name The TK Community Think Tank. Why that name? LOL Your guess is as good as mine! I guess it had something to do with the fact that several of us were putting our heads together to think about how to help the community grow and unite.
We now have more available information than ever before. It's our gift to you and a pleasure to offer it. In celebration of our tenth anniversary, I'm inviting community members to keep their eyes open to the site. We're planning on some contests and other fun stuff. So, hop on over sometime if you haven't been there yet and stop by again if you already know us. We'd love to share what we've found with you. (The link is in my sig.)
Just mind the mess. It's been a bit since we've had a chance to clean up. 😉
