Speaking of Robert E. Lee...

I used to be a Civil War buff and read all sorts of topical books, and in one particular book (I can't remember the name and I don't see it in the milkcrates that serve as my bookshelves, but it was something like "Strange and fascinating facts about the Civil War, perhaps by James B. MacPherson") there was a factoid that when he was younger (many years before the war), he would read his kids bedtime stories while they tickled his feet. Apparently, if they stopped, he would stop reading and say "no tickling, no story". Kind of creepy, now that I think about it...
