Childhood Question for Ticklees

A while ago, I was reading the Sunday comics and read a strip (?name) in which a little kid is tickled by the mother. Afterwards, in the last frame of the strip, the kid throws his arms in the air, gesturing the mom to tickle him some more.

I thought it was kinda cute, and it got me thinking : Was anybody here like this when they were young? Were you tickled, then realized you liked it? Is this how it starts for some of us? I'd like to hear the stories.

I ask, bc I was not like this. I've always LOVED to tickle, notsomuch get tickled myself. That didn't happen until I was in college.

Yes I would try to get tickled by certain people that I trusted as a child. Since it wasn't sexual for me prior to puberty, nothing seemed uncomfortable about getting relatives involved, etc. As an adult I would cringe at the thought of getting tickled by anyone other than a unrelated female of course, because it is sexual to me now.

But to explore your question further, I think what you're really asking is whether these tickles as a child is what "caused" our tickling fetishes. For me that's a no. I sought out the tickles, not the other way about. And no, I didn't have anyone in my life at the time who tickled me voluntarily, so I totally reject the idea that someone during my childhood created my fetish by tickling me a lot. Like I said, my earliest memories of tickling involve me finding it fascinating and then seeking out ways to get tickled.

At some point, folks are just going to have to realize that many people were born this way. Nature creates all kinds of things that don't seem to serve a discernible purpose. I mean, the "purpose" of sex is procreation, and yet some people are gay. Doesn't make sense, right? The problem is that people are thinking of nature as an intelligence, something purposely designing things like an engineer. Instead, think of nature as a series of processes that result in the development of more advanced systems through natural selection. Once you think of it like that, it starts to make more sense that there could be this completely random fetish that a whole bunch of people seem to have for no apparent reason.

Thanks for the replies - Yea, I was wondering if for some of us who enjoy being tickled today, when you were tickled as a child, what was the first impression? Was it simply "I like this, I wanna get tickled again."

For me (I'm mostly a tickler), I've enjoyed tickling since I was very young, and wanted to tickle girls, bc I liked the way it made my heart race and that glob develop in my throat. I had no idea why or what it meant, of course not until puberty. As I've said before, I only recently enjoyed being tickled; this was probably because I felt it easier and less riskier to get tickled than to tickle. Also, I was OK to let myself be tickled when it was someone I really trusted.

No. I didn't want to get tickled myself. I just found it highly fascinating to watch when someone was getting tickled.

Well I was never really very close to my parents. I'm a very huggy-type person, but my parents never were-- I was (for lack of a better word) ignored more often than not, and sometimes I wonder if that's related to my intense desire to be touched now as a young adult.

I remember being tickled maybe on one or two occasions-- very short encounters that left me feeling strange and breathless, which embarrassed me, so even if I had the opportunity, I would avoid it at all costs.

I remember another instance where me and an older friend tied my brother to a chair and tickled him (I must have been younger than 7, I remember it was in the first house I lived in) -- and I think the only reason I went along with it (or suggested it? I don't remember) was because I was hoping to have a turn-- which of course didn't happen.

So, to give you a short answer, no, I wasn't a child like the one pictured in that comic.

oddly enough, tickling came to me in a dream, i just remember waking up one morning after a dream which i cant recall, and suddenly, i loved tickling. i never did have any experiences with it from family, save for one friend, but in that case it was like the comic.
a friend of mine new that i liked to be tickled, and used to tickle my feet in class, and most times when he stopped, i would end up gesturing for more. at that point i was just trying to figure everything out, im sure most people on here can recall how confusing it can be when you discover the tickle love, and suddenly have to figure it all out as quickly as possible.

I've never really enjoyed being tickled till i was older but as a kid i still didn't mind being tickled just aslong as it wasn't another guy tickling me... that last part still hasn't changed.
