Hey guys! Maybe a couple of you can help me out. Totally puzzelled as to what to buy my bro for Christmas this year. He is 29yo, techno geek, loves cars, guns and anything that is a "cool" toy. He is a really smart guy who makes a good living. Money IS an issue for me but I always try to get him something special. This year I'm a little stumped. Any ideas from the boys out there? You can post here or PM me...

fyi, his car is a '96 Impala SS that he has totally pimped out for autocross racing.

Thanks a bunch,
Kitten

A couple of boxes of ammo, doesn't sound specil, but I enjoy shooting, and ammo gets expensive and is always apreciated as a gift

see it would help to know what he has for his car already..ya know from talkin to me online that im a huge chevy freak! lol. Anyways, I can pick up my Summit Racing book and find whatever you need for a Impala SS. Lots of stuff for the LT1 LT4 and LS1 engines in there.

His engine is SOOO far from stock, I wouldn't even know where to go with that. You know any good car books he might like?

Jugner- Ammo isn't a bad idea but I like to get a bit more person than that... the same goes for you, any good books? He is both a handgun and a rifle person but not much of a hunter

thanks for your help, it is SO appreciated!

a Rifle or Handgun Magazine Subscription.

You can go to any local store that sells magazines and take a look through them and browse (i would suggest going to an actually big book store though that sells alot of different magazines and books)

Hey Gorgeous Girl!

I'm not a boy but I have a couple in my life~Hee!
You can't miss with a gift certificate, ya know, Fry's, Kragen Auto, etc. Some people think it's impersonal like cash but I love them, that way he can get what he NEEDS...

XOXO

How about trying to buy him tickets to next years auto show? It is when all the auto makers show off their new poduct and some future concepts cars. he should love that.

Budget?

If you have a good sized budget ($700-ish) or can get a few family members to chip in I'd bet dollars to donuts he'd *love* a GPS system for the car.

Hi, Kitten! If you're on a budget you might be able to have an XM Satellite system installed in his car. The installation is a little over $200 or so, but the subscription to the service is only $9.99 a month... you can buy him a year's subscription and that might make him happy. I had it installed in my car and I not only have about 200 channels to choose from, but I'm saving money by not buying as many CD's. Every genre of music can be heard on XM stereo.

I'd offer you suggestions about car parts or rifles but I'm not really into all that.

Hey that is what *I* want for Christmas!!!

Anyhow, you guys have been great and I think youve given some good ideas to work off of... I just love to get the perfect gift totally tailored to someones interests, even if it is something I know nothing about.

Thanks again!

I can totally relate hon. I spend all year listening and writing down little things friends say they WISH they had, so I'm prepared come Christmas! They always say, "OMG, I can't BELIEVE you remembered that!" (the list remains a secret I never divulge to them!)😀

I do the list too, but my brother hasn't talked about much lately other than my dad after his surgery, his new bathroom or the tractor he just bought... thanks bro!!! He hasn't been much help.

My sister in law is next. She's been big into gourmet cooking lately so I was thinking of a bread dipping kit with little saucers and oil, spices and balsamic vinegar as one of her gifts. DO you know of a good gourmet website?

Well, I'm married to a gourmet chef!

For high class stuff, I love William Sonoma, Swiss Colony, and www.xcellint.com...

XOXO

get him a subscription to like, Super Chevy or Chevy High Performance..ill try to find you the links to them. Usually they run articles on the LT1 engine. which is what i believe your bro has. I get them and i dont really have an engine that can be easily modified. nothing is ever written on it. this would be a great place to start..Heck, how bout a gift card to SummitRacing or Jegs. two of the top performance parts dealers in the region, both are based outta Ohio i believe.

here you go... http://www.summitracing.com/

http://www.jegs.com/

http://www.gmhightechperformance.com/

http://www.magazinesworld.net/P/CHEVY_HIGH_PERFORMANCE,410.html

http://www.superchevy-web.com/

maybe you can find something in these he may like.

I know he bought the car with an LT1 engine in it... but he has put as LEAST as much money into the car as what he spent on buying it. I have no idea what he has got going on now... I know his most recent change is to put six point restraints in it and convert the automatic to a manual transmission. He's ambitious. i'll try to get the dirt from his wife about what he is subscribed to right now. Thanks navel!
