Today, Nebraska agreed to move to the Big 10 if asked.

Then they were formally invited, and announcement to happen Friday.

Then, Texas met with its board...according to reports...told them the Big 12 could not be saved, thus it looks that 6 teams from the Big 12 will join the PAC-10 and become the PAC-16. Those teams being said to be Texas, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, Oklahoma, Oklahoma St. and Colorado.

Now....the fun begins.

This is the largest change of the landscape of college sports in my lifetime.

This is only the beginning. What do you all think, where do you think this will end up? Will we get a play off, or a good alternative of 6 Mega Conferences with 16 teams, thus 6 Conference championship games helping decide a national championship game.

Also...dun dun dun, what other conferences will die, and now does Notre Dame have no choice but to join a conference. I personally think Notre Dame has no choice and must join the Big 10 (now 12) or the Big East.

Another thought, what other conferences will or may not exist any longer.

WOW!!

Oh, and Missouri is most likely on its way to the Big 10 as well.

Being a Penn State guy..I love it! The fallout from this is going to be incredible to see. It's sort of like a soap opera for guys (and girls too). I think:

Texas, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State and Colorado go to the Pac 10 (now Pac 16).

Missouri, Syracuse, Pitt and Notre Dame (realizing they have no other choice) join the Big 10 with Nebraska

The SEC takes Miami and Florida State

ACC brings in West Virginia and Louisville?

Remaining teams form their own conference

Pac-10 with Texas/Oklahoma teams is the dumbest thing I've ever heard.

College sports (especially Football) are going to get worse fast, especially if they all this change doesn't mean a playoff system instead of the BCS.

Nebraska to the Big 10 isn't as far fetched as it might seem, but Texas to the Pac 10? What's next the South Carolina Gamecocks to the Big Sky conference? My Missouri Tigers almost went with Nebraska to the Big 10.

It's all about money, money, money. And yeah, if it doesn't result in some sort of National Championship playoff system then they're really screwing the fans.

Kansas, a perennial basketball champion contender, may wind up really getting screwed as well. What conference are they going to wind up in?

Boise State announced today that they are joining the Mountain West Conference which at least makes a little bit of sense.

It definitely will be interesting to see how it shakes out, but I have a bad feeling about how everything will ultimately turn out.
