Comedy from yesteryear - Paul Lynde and Dean Martin

Paul Lynde is my personal favorite comedian of all time. Some may remember him as Uncle Authur on the TV sitcom Bewitched. He also made cameo appearances on I Dream of Jeannie and The Munsters, but is probably best remembered as the center square on The Hollywood Squares.

Here are a few of Paul's priceless performances on The Dean Martin Show, which debuted in 1965 and ran for nine seasons. Note also the excellent performances by the beautiful Joey Heatherton and the sexy Debbie Reynolds.

Paul Lynde was hysterical as a near-sighted doctor on "The Munsters". He would always say the same thing to Herman when he shook his hand:

"Ah Mr. Munster, I see ya bought your doggie with ya!"


And he was such a riot as Uncle Arthur on "Bewitched".

I miss those shows too at times. There will never be another Paul Lynne and I think there was a college cult at the time that just watched hollywood squares just to see what Mr Lynn would utter when asked a question. He was that funny.

If you do a search online, a Paul Lynde dvd was released last year. This was a Halloween special he did back in 1976. Among the guests are Billy Barty, Margaret Hamilton( the final time she played the witch from The Wizard of Oz), and the band Kiss.

Paul Lynde has always been a favorite of mine. And those Dean Martin celebrity roasts were hilarious!
