Coming out and generally being more open

I used to keep my fetish locked up tighter than my pin number only ever ACTUALLY coming out to one g/f although a couple of the others prob figured it out because I would tickle the hell out of them... but the last couple of months I've been curious how the people I know would react... So lately I've come out to a couple of my close female friends (mainly because I moved away and if they had a bad reaction it would be easier to avoid them) but I've had surprisingly good reactions!

Most of them find it "cute" which is prob in the top 3 reactions with #1 being really?! me too! (sadly noone had the top reaction yet :-(

Now I'm not about to post it on facebook or anything but just wondering if others have had similar reactions to coming out or if anyone wants to share a bad reaction theyve received :-x

My ground rule is: If a friend starts to talk about sex to me and tells me what they like, I see no reason why I shouldn't tell them what I like. They most likely won't care. If I were you, I'd be careful about telling friends that you regularly tickle though - they might feel like you took advantage of them.

Personally I believe not a whole lot of people have any business knowing what floats my boat - it's private and should stay that way.

My attitude on letting people know what I like and dont like is exactly like your ground rule... but until recently it didnt apply to my fetish because I've always seen it as something to hide. But the thing is that I've started to think that at least with my close female friends (guys talking about sexual stuff with the boys is never cool... none of us want to hear that from each other :-x) that if they would pull away because of something i like then they are way too judgemental for me to be close with them anyways.

Also I try to restrain myself from tickling my friends too much (although I'm naturally touchy) because like you said, it makes me feel like I'm taking advantage of them ;-)

Pretty much true! As I said, most people won't really care what you are into sexually unless they are planning to have sex with you. 🙂

I've come out in the past to female friends who had already let me give them a foot massage or two before. it was only recently that a friend of mine who loves getting massages, did i open up to having a huge foot fetish, liking to smell her feet and suck her toes. she's been cool with it....like she'll pass out and let me play with her feet. whats strange is that in undergrad i did the same thing with a friend and she too was totally cool with it. i guess it all depends on the relationship and how you deliver. My gut feeling is that all these guys who insist on coming out to their female friends are trying to either get some action out of them, or validation by having a real, live woman tell him he's not a weirdo. I can't really think of any other reason.

I've come out to friends who have tried arguing with me that it's not actually a fetish because it's not weird enough 😛 They thought it was too normal to be in the fetish category because most couples already tickle each other and enjoy it. Obviously I know it's my fetish. I just found it funny that they were so adamant about it being not strange enough. 😛
In fact when I told my boyfriend I had a fetish he said he got really nervous and scared but when I told him what it was, he told me he was relieved.

Honestly I have no idea what's "strange" about it either. Like, at all. Never have. Unless perhaps it's the ONLY thing that turns someone on. Eating shit or wearing diapers to me seems MUCH more of a "fetish" to me than an act that's based on intimate touch, induces laughter and thereby gets endorphins running.

Not dissing whatever floats your boat, just sayin'. 🙂

On topic: I've never told a woman that I was "into" anything. As in, have a big discussion about it. I've just done it and the results have always been positive. The disclaimer here is I've only intimately tickled a girl I've been in a relationship with. So bondage, tickling, and whatever else are just another part of foreplay. Scheduled sessions or tickling a friend does nothing for me.

I don't really tell people generally. A female friend of mine guessed it a few years ago. And even though I told my boyfriend, he'd know about it by now anyway just through experience. Wouldn't be surprised if others guessed too though, my boyfriend is pretty open about tickling me, and does it in public all the time cause he thinks it's funny, but it makes him look like he's got the 'fetish'.
