Ah, that sounds like a very useful substance. 😀 😛
It is. Its actually a bacteria that attacks only the crickets. The only problem is you have to get them while they are still little babies.

 Its better for everything in the long run. Many pesticides will get rid of a lot of beneficial insects as well as the bad ones.
 
 6 foot water bugs would be something I would not ever want.
