I won't be moving anywhere for at least two years; I only want one big change in my life at a time and it should take me about that long to adjust to retirement.

Florida is a possibility. I wish to retire to a place where (1) it never snows, and (2) there is no state income tax. There are currently only three states that satisfy (2) and that also have warm parts that satisfy (1). They are, in alphabetical order, Florida, Nevada, and Texas.

Also there is no state income tax in New Hampshire, but the winters are horrendous.

I am reasonably familiar with one part of Florida, having visited there for a week from 1988 to 2008 inclusive. (It was every March to Vero Beach for Dodger spring training.) It is a possibility.
