Interesting note on the cultural thing. For many years now women in japan have been gaining ground on the men. What I mean is getting larger paychecks and longer vacations. This has started a creepy trend where men around 28 and up seek out younger women(18 and lower). Apparently some sort of psychological need to have dominance cause them to seek out weaker women. It has caused a huge problem with teen sex and prostitution. One perspective might be that these images show the women in both pain and completely helpless like some men feel in japan right now. It is a way of gaining back some of the control they feel they have lost...
