Well to tell you a little something about myself, I suffer from extreme eczema. I've had for as long as I can remember and as a result of eczema I'm often kept awake at night with little to no sleep whatsoever (much like right now).

It's always been bad but I've had times when it was absolutely Unbearable! Now is one of those times. I'll survive but now it's worse than ever before. It's mainly effecting my belt line, lower stomach, inner thighs, and underarms to the point where it doesn't even feel like skin anymore it feels like sandpaper.

I'm going to have to go back to the doctor in about a month to get steroid treatment like last time but until then I'm stuck with dry skin that goes beyond itching. Its literally become screaming and even crying agony for nights upon nights upon nights. If anyone has any suggestions on how to better deal with it until then or long term PLEASE LET ME KNOW!!!

Well I'm off to preoccupy myself with something. Hope to hear something back.

Your humble little geek,

i have it 2 not that bad tho my comes 'and goes but does suck have ya tried ne lotions creams anti itch stuff or mayby some pain meds or something that is all i can think of wish i could help mor goodluck

My mom used to use bag balm for hers when she had bouts of it. That can be found in most drug stores. I got a really nasty burn on the back of my neck and shoulders a little over a week ago. It was deep enough that several layers of skin were painful, rough and peeling. I smothered it with bag balm and it was completely healed in a day and a half. So, it should be good enough for eczema.

I've also seen soy milk used to ease it temporarily. The enzimes in soy are very healing. There's a soy milk hair conditioner made by Healthy Sexy Hair that can be used as a lotion. Then, you don't need to rinse off after using it.

Hope one or both proves helpful to you!

Thanks for your help. I'll see if I can find those things and see if they work for me. I really do appreciate any advice I can get!

OMG, you poor thing~my heart really goes out to you~I have a patient in the same boat. She is covered from head to toe with pain, itching, massive anxiety attacks that constantly send her to the ER. She sheds, sloughs off apparently about 5 buckets of dead skin per day. She has to change her sheets every morning because she itches in her sleep, the scabs fall off and the sheets are covered with blood.
What kind of health insurance do you have, if I can ask, contact me via PM if you like.
XOXO

My doctor prescribed this

To my little brother when I was younger. It works wonders apparently, and I have a jar of it myself for using when my hands are especially dry. It's very very much like slathering yourself in grease though; it's really thick. Kind of expensive for a tube OR a jar, but I highly recommend.

It works wonders :yayzorz:

Edit - Then again, I skimmed your post at first. You sound like you have it much worse than my brother, but there's no harm in trying is there? That sounds like an excruciating condition, and I am so truly sorry for you 🙁

Well I don't have it THAT bad. I have it pretty bad though. Boy that almost makes me feel a little better reading your post (Not that I enjoy her pain or anything that Truly is Horrible and I REALLY feel bad for whomever she is, its just that I always like to think positive by saying "It could be worse".)

I'm on kaiser insurance. That's the extent of my knowledge, because I'm still living at home and I'm still living off of my parents. The last time it got to this point the doctor gave me this steroid cream and a temporary set of pills to take with it. That Really seemed to hold me up for a good portion of the year. It at least turned into an annoyance again as opposed to horrible pain.
