As easy as a regular iron you use to iron clothes, spray bottle with water and a towel.
Flip your hair over your head so it's mostly covering your face, use the towel to wrap around your free hand and then the water occasionally in your hair and just iron down. You might need help with the top though.
It's difficult, but it's a trick my girlfriends used to do awhile ago.
I'm sure there's product as well, but for a good enough kind you'll definitely have to spend a decent amount of money.
Flat-ironing is the same thing, minus the difficulty of using the rigged method. Just put your hair between the clamps and slide down. Start from the top and work your way down.
Now THERE'S an idea, there! I'll definitely have to try that. hehe I've been using tons of clips, but I always get stuck when it comes to doing that one spot in the back underneath side of my hair. Chi makes a really awesome flat ironing cream. It's a little pricey yet I'm like a redneck at a flea market when I walk into Sally's and see it on sale.
I mean seriously, I used to hate my hair with a passion because I didn't know how to take care of it. This is all I do to take/style my hair:
Wash hair everyday
Leave in a little conditioner
Let air dry, NO BLOW DRYERS, ARE YOU FUCKING STONED??!?!?! DON'T DO IT!
I take like a quarter size of a style gel while my hair is drying and just scrunch it in my hair.
And after that, I just let it be.
It's not hard, seriously, I do it everyday.
It's really not the curls themselves, I just have unusually thick, coarse hair. This method you described it almost exactly what I do, except I use conditioning mousse (maybe it's my hair color, gel just makes my hair look gross and unwashed) Where I run into problems is at work really. Just a couple hours of being wind blown and having little hands pulling on it (little kids LOVE to mess with my hair, I dunno why) and all those nice uniform curls
turn into a real disaster.
I feel you on the hair dryers. I hate those things, even if they didn't make me look like a glam rocker already, they're scary and I stay far away.
I prefer it straightened mostly because I can go a full day at work without looking like a homeless person by the end of the day. Well that and the fact that I decided a couple months back to try out having bangs. It didn't work out quite well, it looks like I have a red poodle on my forehead. I'm not ready to give up on bangs just yet though, when done right, I like them.
Chemotherapy.
The massive cell death will kill living hair, BUT it will also affect skin architecture so it CAN also change the shape of the hair follicles in the process, thus giving your hair a totally different look...maybe wavy, maybe straight.
Of course, that might be a bit extreme, but not if your irritation for your hair exceeds the results of the treatment.
Well... I ... suppose that's an option... maybe.
😛
As for what is hair? It's like a flag for your brain. It waves around and says "hey look at me, I'm attached to a brain!"
