Someone who posted a few things I didnt agree with, pmed me earlier tonight, and explained their feelings to me, in a constructive manner, about how they feel I can express things better. I listened, and will take their advice.

That's fair, and I do the same. If you know that you're going to respond to posts you find inflammatory, and you know that people are going to post things you find inflammatory, why declare that you're done for good, walking away, putting it out of your mind, etc etc? You know full well that it isn't true - you're going to defend yourself. So why pretend otherwise?
It just seems melodramatic to me, and I think that's also what some other people find irksome.
