I love seing movies on a big screen, but for the past year or so I cannot recall any good movie. Everything that I've seen this year on my grading skale is equal to negative infinity.

Just think what we had in recent time in theatres:
1. Splice - man still cannot forget how UNBELIEVABLY BAD it was. :facepalm2:It did not make any sence to me.
2. Inglorious bastards - I left the movie after 40 minutes in...that was too hard to handle.:bonk:
3. All about Steve ---pffffffffff what can I say: Blond Balok in red shoes with broken umbrella......ommmg still beter than Inglorious Bastards.:lurking:
4. Salt - Jolie runs places the entire movie:gonao: and gets bitten up:paddle: stupid action.
5. Airbender- can't believe they are making a seaquel. First movie was bad enough.
6. Titans-they made it in 3d too...
7. Alice in Wonderland -(watched it in 3D nothing interesting or maybe I just hate the original tale).
8. WHOLE LOAD OF MEANINGLESS CARTOONS ....:bugeyed:

9.....Oh my, how did I forget to mention Twighlight saga?...Well, it's so bad that I didn't even had to mention it.

And many many more...
Only Inception in light of all above mentioned crap managed to climb to the rating of good movies, and that is only owing to the great cast.

What do you think? Name me a movie, which is worth to watch it and more or less recent one.

Inglourious Basterds, for one. 😛

And Hollywood hasn't had an original idea in decades. If you want truly engaging cinema these days, I recommend finding a local indie theater that plays art-house stuff that isn't widely released.

well.. i just watched year one with jack black and i thought that was pretty damn funny.
but thats just because its my sense of humor.

I have been delving into the works of Larry Blamire and enjoying what I have found. The Lost Skeleton of Cadavra is a homage to all those 50's "B" Monster movies and very witty with a great cast. Anyone who knows me here knows that I abhor remakes of almost any kind no matter who does them. But this movie starts from corny and jumps right into funny and stays there. The two people who play the mated space beings are terrific and the writing is superb. I liked it so much I pre ordered his two next films from Amazon and should arrive around the third week of this month. Granted this type of film is not for everyone but it is original and does it's best to be subtle yet funny and succeeds for the avid film buff.

Shutter Island, Iron Man 2, After.Life, Kick-Ass, Toy Story 3, Despicable Me, and Inception have all been fucking excellent.

Kick-ass....no way...Me no like it...
Toy Story...heh better than the second toy story, but not as good as the first movie...

Maybe Iron Man, but only because the actor is so so hot.
Despicable me..will grab my sis and see it =p

Shutter Island haven't heard of it, who's in it?

Inglourious Basterds, for one. 😛

Why Inglorious Bastards?:frankie:

Whole load of subtitles..they try speak many different languages and sometimes it's so messed up. Plus if you notised when they speak Franch subtatles do not translate some words and wright them in Franch.

Brad Pit and his made up (forgive me my spelling) taxes acsent  drives nuts.

That was quite ago when I went to see it, don't remember all the detailes, but that's one I could not even stand to see longer than 40min:pweese:

But that's probably your taste in movies. You like everything not conventional right? Something like Clockwise Orange right?...Anyway what that title means?

Usually, I look for whatever's next from my favorite directors or screenwriters... I'll give anything a shot if it's by Christopher Nolan, Terry Gilliam, Charlie Kaufman, Paul Thomas Anderson, Alan Ball or The Coen Brothers. It's no guarantee that it'll be good (recent semi-letdowns include "Synecdoche, NY" and "Burn After Reading"), but it's likely to be creative enough that I'll find something about it that I like.

It's A Clockwork Orange.

Wikipedia said:
A Clockwork Orange (1962) is a dystopian novel by Anthony Burgess. Burgess gave three explanations for the origins of the title. In a prefatory note to A Clockwork Orange: A Play with Music, Burgess wrote that the title was a metaphor for "...an organic entity, full of juice and sweetness and agreeable odour, being turned into an automaton."[1] In his essay, "Clockwork Oranges" ², Burgess asserts that "this title would be appropriate for a story about the application of Pavlovian or mechanical laws to an organism which, like a fruit, was capable of colour and sweetness". This title alludes to the protagonist's positively conditioned responses to feelings of evil which prevent the exercise of his free will. With this technique, the subject’s emotional responses to violence are systematically paired with a negative stimulation in the form of nausea caused by an emetic medicine administered just before the presentation of films depicting violent, and "ultra-violent" situations. Written from the perspective of a seemingly biased and unapologetic protagonist, the novel also contains an experiment in language: Burgess creates teenage slang of the not-too-distant future.

Well first off let me say that I LOVE Inglorious Basterds and before you ask me no I am not the kind of person who loves every movie they see or thinks movies like Transformers 2 are the greatest Hollywood epics ever made (And yes I have heard people say that God forbid.) But I won't defend that here unless provoked. Toy Story 3 was a great animated movie but for the most part yeah animation has suffered and I have not seen Despicable Me yet. Salt was pretty good but I don't think its so good that its worth defending I just thought it was your smarter than average popcorn flick but still just a popcorn flick.

I do agree with the above though, there are more movies out there that are not Hollywood, quite a lot of crap but there are gems in the indie movie field and in foreign films and microbudget movies. I do believe that everything has been done already and originality is hard to find but sometimes you try hard enough you'll find some movies you never knew existed that are creative, intelligent, or more often then not just a hell of a lot of fun.

I tend to prefer newer movies, although I really don't care for any of Tarantino's newer stuff.

The Girl Who Played With Fire is a current film that is worth watching, IMO. 😀

You are correct in that most of the films released are crap.

I agree, but that is almost always the case (that the book is better than the film).

To bad for me I have very bad memory on names and never can recall any of the directors or even actors. =(
Whoviantrekkie
Foreign movies maybe. I've seen several good German movies. I am not very big fan of Indian movies though, they just dance all the time =)
I hate most of old Russian movies and most of their newer movies, but my favourite movie is Russian =). They make a lot of movies about WWII lately. That's why I am probably so sick of seen war movies.
SlaverTickler you can get tired of seen nazi's being killed to =)

The Girl who Played with Fire I've seen only one theater screening it now, If you say it's good I guess it might be nice way to spend Tuesday night )

Karastus ....OMG that was quite an explanation...
