As I try to pump up some life into my newly tickling community web site, I think of this male to female issue myself...
(I am relating to the Hebrew community tickling website
www.digdugim.com)
I tried to moderate at least some of the deterring factors mentioned here, but still to no avail. That may suggest the the problem is something else..
Digdugim.com is a site with several forums, some of which are not aimed at all to discuss tickling - like there are such here. Each registered user is able to open his/her own blog. It is nothing fancy, but it would allow people to let others get to know them - in the community, and then, maybe friendships and relationships can evolve... On top of everything, I insisted it will be a non-graphic website. One can write what they like, but no video clips or images are present. I wanted to avoid an atmosphere created by men sharing adult material with each other, if you know what I mean... The only graphic thing is the title, that includes a rather innocent shot of a woman being tickled.
The content all in all - though often erotic, is not "violent". In fact I do not remember seeing any post or blog record that was into non-consensual stuff.
All in all, it should've allowed people to post, and share, and discuss, and do so in a less "explicit" and less deterring scenery.
The poll in the website collected about 140 different voters, of which 65 said they are into tickling "forever", and 55 admitted they found it "curious". This seems to be a good start for a local tickling community, one which statistically should include both men and women.
Do you think it worked? Do you think it made women show to the surface?
It didn't. The women that participated were the women that participated in the other, "more explicit" forum. There was one stranger - but she disappeared quickly (and its not because she was harrasted- she couldn't be -as she was not registered, and hence couldn't be PMed).
Yet, three months after
www.digdugim.com was launched, the place is dead. An occasional individual is trying to breathe life into the forums, and post a record in his blog, but that is it. One would expect, that once the tools to express who you really are are given - they will be used. One would expect that men and women would related to a less explicit, and "friendlier" environment.
On top of my own frustration of my failure, I am raising a question: After conducting this experiment of a less "threatening" atmosphere, and after it failed: What makes people in general participate? That is - people in general, and women in particular. And the presence of women is vital. I am not just after a community of people sharing their fantasies. I am after a community that will allow - in a decent, honest, and pleasant manner - allow people to meet for the relationships they always fantasized about, good relationships, whole relationship, that include - among other things, a materialization of the mutual tickling fetish...

Probably which is very unfortunate, but not surprising
