Does anyone else find tickling within family weird?

Does anyone else find it weird when a family member is tickled or tickles you?

To me it's almost like seeing your mom in a strap on. I mean... it is a fetish and though I don't always think of it as a sexual thing, its still a turn on. I just feel really, almost grossed out, by the idea of my family getting tickled.

What do you guys think? Does it bother you?

inspired: My cousin ( Julie ) and i have tickled each other just about everytime we see each other for years and its always playful and never sexual. I've tickled her feet and her belly button and thats it. She has always tickled my feet. No it never bothers me because we both are very ticklish people who enjoy being tickled by one another.. Seeing a female member of my family being tickled is fun to see if i'm around at that particular time but if it was one of the guys being tickled i wouldnt have any interest at all..

Yeah, it is a tat on the weird/bizarre side in my opinion, to the extent that in is in the same league as insest.

I suppose though to other people where it isn't a fetish, it wouldn't make any difference.

A little clarification

It's only weird if there's a sexual connation to it. For a lot of people, it can be innocent. Remember folks, not everyone has a tickle fetish. Just because you feel sexual about, doesn't mean everyone does.

But yeah, asking about family-related (is that a pun?) stuff in the forum or the chatroom? That IS weird.

Hahaha, trust me, I do know that not everyone has a tickle fetish.

I have just read some stories of brothers or sisters tickling each other and things like that so I know some people with fetishes don't think anything of it. I just wanted to make sure that I wasn't the only one who thought it was weird.

i've never found tickling with cousins a problem - i have a very ticklish female cousin and tickled her lots!
i do however get very cross when my younger (and only sibling - sister) tickles me - i don't know why, its possibly because we don't really get along well anyway

my dad ocassionally tickles me and it doesnt bother me as much, but i would never tickle any of them

It's all about perspective....I've tickled the feet of a number of female relatives in my family (and they too have tickled mine) and it never had any sexual/fetish orientation to it for where I'm concerned (and I seriously doubt any of them thought of it that way either). Granted, the times where this has happened were nowhere near as long or as engaging as it would be between myself and a female friend or S.O....but I never had to really worry about myself getting 'excited' or what have you whenever it occurred between myself and female relatives....otherwise, I probably wouldn't venture to do so!

But seriously, I think of tickling like a kiss or a hug it's an expression of affection for another person. For example, I have tickled my little neices because they get a kick out of it; however, the very thought of it being in a sexual context makes me sick, if I ever hear of anyone doing such a thing to my beautiful little children you'll read about it in the news. At the same time, I tickle my lovely wife all the time and it's totally in a sexual context . When I was single I had met a couple of young women who regularly would bond with their mothers by giving them regular foot rubs and would through in an occassional playful tickle since they were in a fairly vulnerable position. Look at it this way, no one would consider kissing or hugging their mom sexual;so it's all about the context of the expression, yes it is all relative.

Okay, I understand this may not be logic-driven, but if it is . . . consider that it is standard practice to hug and kiss lovers, but also to hug and kiss children. It's the attitude and details that make all the difference, isn't it?

I find parents tickling children disturbing..and if a story evolves around that, i don't read it...kids tickling each other or siblings i should say, i don't see anything disturbing in that...but kids tickling their parent? yes...i do not like to read or see anything about that...

actually i never experienced any family tickling whatsoever...i don't know if i inherited my tickle gene or not..i never asked anyone in my family if they were ticklish..to this day i have no idea if my parents were or not...and i don't know if my sister is either...i believe she is, but it's not something i want to talk to her about..

I must have skipped that family dinner where everyone talked about their fetishes, weird sexual habits, etc.

I have no idea what the rest of my family is into, and I would rather stay that way.

I only find it weird when people can't distinguish sexual tickling and just affectionate, playful family-like tickling. It really disturbs me when I see stories pop up like "OMG I got tickled by my 3 brothers!!1!". Other than that, if you can separate the two, I don't see any problem.

Usually yea, I agree 100%. I view it in a more flirtatious light these days, and so the idea of tickling family is almost hair raising.

It also depends on who it is, however. If its a family member around my own age, it wont so much gross me out but the reasoning behind the tickling would be far different than with someone I wasnt related to. I would honestly be tickling for some other reason, be it just something playful to do or perhaps just to get them to laugh.

Also, with brothers and sisters tickling takes on a new light. While brothers fight, brothers and sisters tickle each other. 😛 So in that case I dont find it weird at all.

I will hightail it if an older family member tries it. That just creeps me out now.
