When the video clips section was not completely dominated by preview clips from tickling producers? Id love to see more user created content out there.

Don't get me wrong.. The clips are GREAT but I'm starting to get the feeling that the goal of that section is turning into an advertising section.

Anyone else agree?

They're running the risk of public exposure without the reward of financial compensation. I understand showing an amateur video to friends in a "hey, look what I did!" way. This is true also. I remember a website called extremetickling.com that took a whole bunch of clips that are nolonger available and charging a monthly fee to access their database..
So this is the downside of posting clips as an amateur or just a happy fetishist couple wanting to share... There is always going to be someone that will try to make money off of it, or claim the work as their own.
At a minimum, hundreds of tickle enthusiasts hiding in the closet are going to be whacking off to your clip. Always something to keep in mind

Right now the economy is tight and we have less free time to do stuff like create free content. So many people are trying to capitalize on their opportunities - such as myself - and the fact that there are many, many people out there who are willing to pay money to see what I have. I try to keep pricing low so as to not seem like a complete jackass, but it's also not like I make money off of the vids.

The idea is that when people buy the videos, the money goes into an account which I draw from to pay new models, buy/build new equipment, and upgrade my shooting and editing gear. I don't use it to pay the bills and I don't use it to go on trips (unless its to a gathering, where I do more shoots, lol). After a certain period of time, I make certain clips available for free, such as the ones above.

Bella: I'm sorry for pouncing, jaguar-like. I hadn't specifically brought to mind the difference in sweat and resources between a story and a professional clip. On the other hand --

(1) the thread-poster was prompting us to create some simple and amateurish clips, because many of these might have more attraction than the big-ticket money-makers; and

(2) I've written a good deal for "publication" -- academic papers, lectures, even sermons, newsletters, user guides, technical manuals, etc. etc. Makes me tired to think of it all (retirement has some comfort).

I've also written a number of huff-puff squirm tickle-torture stories. I've found that these take a lot of concentration and effort -- whether or not they result in a Great American Vellicational Epic. I suppose that Betsy Ross was just a seamstress, but her flag took concentration and effort and *did* result in a great American icon.

So I guess I'm cheering as a partisan of the lonely writer in his/her dark tower, prepared -- like Virgil -- to burn all his manuscripts before he dies. (Augustus' greatest achievement was to save the Aeneid.)

But hey, let's cheer for all the muses and their camera men!

Its like other porn videos. You can watch Jenna Jameson and whomever else or you can watch a camcorded sex scene between a guy and his gf\etc

Both are good but both offer their own uniqueness

I kinda agree with the OP. Seems like you can't see any kind of content around here anymore without it being a hook for some kind of commercial venture. People charging for tickling sessions in the personals, videos being ads for producers, artwork simply teasers for comic books... Well, hey, my fiance and I are going to start posting our home-made/amatuer videos for free. Yep, no charge. Why? It's not about the money. We both have good, well-paying jobs and we both have free time. It's about giving something for nothing and recieving the happiness it can bring to those who can afford to buy the clips.

Anyways check out my thread in the Video/Audio Clips section, its got a video we shot in november last year. It's 7 or 8 minutes long too.

The thing is, if you write a story, it doesn't cost you anything but your time. I personally write tickling novels because I like to, it's fun, and actually yes, there is something in for me when I post it: I like it when people enjoy reading my stories!

But most producers have to pay their models! And not small amounts!! So why would they put the clips out there for free? I bet you that most producers just get the money back that they put into the clip and don't make a lot of profit with it.

I posted a short home made clip here about a year ago - for free. (The Kitten Incident)

Why? Because it was something random that got caught on tape and only the people here at the TMF would really appreciate the comedy of a kitten that got loose in a tickling session. =)

Now. In my case, I had already done a few paid gigs with Viper. So the public exposure was already there. I wasn't risking anything I had not already risked. As for financial compensation - it never really crossed my mind. It was more of a "omg you won't believe what happened last night" kind of thing that I wanted to share with the good folks here at the TMF.

This I do tend to agree with, because I feel that one should have some heart in their profession if they're going to do it well whether it's tickling clips or teaching or being a doctor; when someone's only in it for the money it can really affect the quality of service. And why spend hours and hours of your precious life doing something that doesn't satisfy you, at least on some level...?

Now having said that, I can totally understand why clips have gone commercial. Frankly, back in the day no one really thought you could have your own video business if you weren't a big huge company like Cal Star, able to afford "quality" models and such, *or* a tech guru with the camera and editing equipment and lighting, etc. People who did know how to produce an amateur clip did so for their love of the kink and because they had no idea someone might pay them for the effort. Over the last decade, thanks to easier software and proven home-based-one-dude companies along with places like Clips4Sale, many more would-be producers can try their hand at having their own video biz that (gasp!) contributes to our fetish and helps pay off one's student loans. While I absolutely agree that it's very generous when folks give away their clips, I also see plenty of free material here and on other forums and on Youtube; no one has to spend a dime on a clip to find plenty of fun fare. Meanwhile, if producers feel the need to be compensated for their full clips I don't see that as less love for the kink so much as a greater love for having their debts paid
