Beaten Biscuit Recipe

3 pints pastry flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup lard
Milk

Mix and sift flour and salt; cut and rub the lard into the flour. Make a stiff dough with milk or milk and water; knead and beat with rolling pin or mallet for one hour. The dough should be smooth and glossy, bits should break off with a snap.

Shape in thin flat cakes, prick all over with a sharp fork and bake in a moderate oven to a delicate brown, until the edges crack a little. They must have time enough to bake thoroughly or they will be heavy in the middle.

BISCUIT TOPPED DUCKIE CASSEROLE

Ingredients

2 tbsp margarine
1/4 cup flour
1 tsp salt
1/4 tsp ground sage
1 cup water
1 cup milk
1 DUCKIE bouillon cube
2 cup cooked DUCKIE, cut up
10 oz frozen mixed veg, thawed
1/2 cup sliced celery
1/4 cup chopped onion
1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
1 tbsp snipped parsley
1/2 tsp paprika
2 cup BISCUIT mix**
1/2 cup cold water**
1 **or 1 can refrigerated BISCUIT
