inspired by recent mentions of the group in various threads, i ask:

what is your fav DD song?

mine is "Ordinary World". i could listen to that one over and over and over and.............

"A View To A Kill", followed closely by "Hungry Like The Wolf" and "Rio".

The Sean Man

:happyfloa

Hard to say..would have to go by era I guess with me being a die hard fan. For the early years id have to say top ones are "My Own Way (Disco Version)", "Girls On Film (Night Version)", "Friends Of Mine" and "The Chauffeur". For middle years id say "New Moon On Monday", "Wild Boys", "A View To A Kill" (as im a bond fan too lol) "Meet El Presidente (12" Version)" and "I Don't Want Your Love (12" Version)". As for the 90s and beyond..didn't really care for much accept the rare limited release 12" single "Burning The Ground" which is non the less a megamix and of corse "Ordinary World". Im looking forward to hearing the brand new Duran LP in the works right now with all the original members! Thats one i'll be buying for sure😉 Now here's a question for any hard core die hards like me out there...whats your fave B Side only release track😛 Mine is a cross between "Khanada" and "Like An Angel" from the early days of Duran.

LOL

hmmm, think he's a real fan, gang? <gg>

XOXO

"Wild Boys" always gets me jumping...

I always thought that song was aboot me...then I realized I was a geek...🙄

*sigh* Oh well, one of these days you'll hear aboot me on the news. 😛

Cheers.😀

here beside the news of holy war and holy need

...ours is just a little sorrowed talk...

Ordinary World is remarkably more lyrically relevant now than it was back in '93. It's definitely my favorite song by Duran Duran...

Back in '84 I was almost literally dragged to a Duran Duran concert at the Meadowlands Arena (the Brendon Byrne Arena back then) by this girl I'd just started seeing. I wasn't a fan, but this was the '80's and we'd pretty much do anything for our little spandex-clad babes, eh?

I have to admit, it wasn't a bad show at all. They were pretty good live. Thier live version of "The Reflex" was really outstanding.

I guess the things we didn't like back then are pretty good by today's standards. At the time, I wasn't really into pop and/or techno, but at least the pop bands in the '80's played thier own instruments, wrote thier own material (for the most part) and had something to say. Not like today where you just rip off a riff from someone else who actually had an imagination, rap over it and call yourself a "musical genius" or an "artist".

I think people's interest in the '80s group perked up when Justin Timberlake presented the Outstanding Contribution award to them at the Brittania Music Awards (The Brits as it's commonly known). Anyway, my choice for my fave Duran Duran song would be Rio. Love the bass in that!

well.......

For some of us the interest never went away...I'm sure shows like "It Came from the 80s" helped!

XOXO

I didnt even know Justin Timberfuck (did i spell that right? lol) presented any award to them. My love of Duran was always there since 1982 when I bought the Rio LP. Then from there on I was a fan for ever. I abandoned them so to speak when the 1990 LP "Liberty" came out as it wasnt to my liking and Duran was basicly no longer Duran. Now since I heard all the original members are back together and working on a new LP with the genius behind Chic..Nile Rodgers once again, I will for sure be buying the CD when it comes out (since theres no more vinyl being pressed for stuff like this). I missed the show in Phoenix they did a few months back as I didnt know they were here and also, didnt have no one to go with or id have been there 4 sure😉

Oh, Ordinary World....what a power ballad guitar riff on that one

No surprise that Rio's getting a lot of votes - but no love for No-nooooo-Notooorious??

I think Come Undone might be my favorite though..depends on my mood.

I always liked A View to Kill, The Reflex....Duran Duran was excellent, good for dancing which was my thing...nothing even interested me after the 80's. Ah maybe 1 or 2 but not much out there these days...

hellooooooooooooooooooooo...

5150--go read my post ...I debated...

XOXO

LOL LOL LOL!!! That was a great video that went well with the movie. Too bad they never released the full length video out to the public. Every Duran video compilation has the version cutting out the dramatic Bond intro....which kinda sucks🙁
