Using the classic model of supply and demand while substituting attractiveness for price (lol), we can see why couples in the fetish community may be atypical in terms of paired couples.
Given that for any fetish, may it be tickling or whatever, we can assume that a duality in terms of preference exists; A partner open to a fetish may increase his/her own attractiveness or likewise someone who dislikes a particular fetish that is enjoyed by a partner may decrease his or her own attractiveness.
Due to this, demand theoretically decreases due to a lack of adequate partners that may satisfy certain desires and the average number of couples and average attractiveness of certain partners decreases.
