Assuming that most of the members on here visit this site habitually, has anyone else ever typed in www.ticklingforum.com by total mistake when people were around you. I am so used to this site being one of the first places I visit when I turn on my computer everyday that sometimes without even thinking I'll type it in as soon as internet explorer comes up. I have caught myself several times as I have been about to type in the site. I actually typed in the site on a computer at college by mistake recently, but luckily caught it before I hit enter and the site opened up and stuck in the history of the school's computer system. I made the mistake of visiting the TMF on my ex-gf's computer once and spent a great deal of time typing several words close to "tickle" into her search engine so that it blended in when the letter "t" was typed into google...lol.

I have actually re-booted my system before from scratch and set my computer so that it didn't recognize words when you type a letter into the search engine. It got pretty bad for a while there when you'd go on google. As soon as you type a letter, either a fetish website, or fetish word immediately popped up.

I've done that (not in the search engine, but in the browser address line).

Not quite, but I'm self-conscious about my new Droid phone. I have an HTC Inspire, which has a HUGE screen. Anytime I'm browsing, I have to remember to go back to the home page (Google) when I'm done, because the browser automatically goes back to the last page you were at when you were last on. It also has an annoying habit of showing all the URLs you typed, when trying to put something in the address bar.

I've done worse. I've looked up "ticklingforum.com" while already on the webpage...............

The TMF is bookmarked on my compter at home, and I live alone,so it's never been an issue. At work or school, I don't think of crusin places like this. Keep the home life private, it's always there, right?
Though a friend was using my computer the other night, and I don't know if she was having problems witht the mouse or what, but she started to roam on that bookmarks bar at the top, across Fetlife and TT, me watching them getting highlighted and wondering if she was going to click something there. She eventually got a handle on things, and I relaxed. She knows I'm into this kind of thing, but she's never seen proof. (Plus she's not interested, so I'd rather not surprise her.)

Yup. I also typed in Wikifeet instead of wikipedia at work once. Luckily nobody saw and I realised before hitting enter, so it wouldnt go into my search history (they monitor us from time to time!).

Yep, without thinking, I once typed it into the address bar at work. It was blocked. Now the IT department knows my secret I guess.

Nope, Havent done that. my wife knows I visit the site, but I view everything in "private browsing" just in case someone visiting uses my laptop. My wife and I have our own laptops so I dont have to worry about her running across it, even though she knows i look, I still like to keep my browsing private ha ha silly insecurity. She enjoys this fun in the bedroom, but could careless about a forum about it.

The other week at work ..I was googling the "Ticket Master" site and had type in "Tickle Master". A nano sec before I hit search I looked up and realized what I had done. Whew!!!! Minor disaster averted!

I've done that quite a few times, but luckily on my own pc.

I've also been in the bad habit lately of typing "tickle" when I mean to spell article. I'll spell it artickle and then realize the mistake and fix it.

I'll look at TMF on my phone during downtime at work, so I can hit the end button and flip it shut real quick if someone walks in. However, I did once accidentally type in www.persiankitty.com on the mailroom's main computer. For those who have never heard of it, that site has nothing to do with cats. 😉 Backed out real quick and no one said a word.

Never, ever, no way

Though a friend was using my computer the other night said:
I NEVER let anyone use my computer. Ever. I've thrown people out of my house because they insisted that their braindead teenagers be allowed to play their stupid games on my machine while we socialized. That's not happenin'

Freudian slips are so fun sometimes! :innocent:

So I know what comes up when you search for "tickle master", what comes up when you google "artickle"??? [giggles]

btw, if your browser has "Auto Complete" turned on.
Just type in the offending first letter like t for tickle and then when it appears press the "Delete" key on your keyboard. The auto complete is deleted from THAT PAGES history.
Its not universal...but helpful...

LOL, I don't know. I have typed it several times while writing papers and good ole microsoft word spell check noticed the error. I caught myself typing "artickle" in an email to my professor asking for details about an article I was writing. Thank god I noticed what I typed.

Very similar to my at work experience - I don't think I would have gotten into trouble, maybe a couple of "Ummmm G what are you doing??" and then I would have been able to blush and giggle and say "I was looking for TicketMaster!!! I swear!"

So here is the coolest artickle thing I have found on Google...... need to somehow incorporate this into a RL conversation -
😉
Artickle" is a portmanteau of "article" and "tickle". It's meant as an alternative to the scholarly article, with ticklish affordances. It tickles the reader with bits and pieces of information; it responds when tickled back.

The name "artickle" (especially when pronounced out loud in the proper fashion, as "ar-tickle") is awkward — deliberately so. This is an awkward application because it's an unfinished prototype; it's an awkward interface by design, because it's meant to reveal, rather than suture over, the awkward groping and stumbling of reading intellectually demanding texts. And Artickle wants to call attention to itself, to interrupt, to disrupt. - http://www.ideoplast.org/al882/artickle.html

I did it again today!! I was IM'ing with a colleague at work about Stanley Cup Playoff tickets and I typed playoff tickles ..... my finger is on the enter key to send the IM and holy crap I see what I have typed!!!! Delete Delete Delete!!!!!!!!
HMMMMMM However playoff tickles - that is a game I think I might really enjoy!
