Farve is a Viking.

Dude.....you have WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY too much free time on your hands...............SERIOUSLY. ROFLMAO .

If Favre wasn`t a Jet for a year you wouldn`t have given a shit how long he played or what he said or did. Try blamin' the bumblin' stumblin' Jets front office for being THAT stupid. Have a nice day G-man.

Sadira , you really are a saint. LOL

But he was a Jet. Worst year of my life. Watch a crusty old man trying to throw footballs. Yeah well he threw them alright. To the other F***ing team. Never mind arm strength either. The reason why he doesn't have arm strength is because he is so F***ing old he was building Sandcastles with my great great great grandfather!!!

Me no likey the Favre drama. Now we all get to be treated to another round of "will he or won't he" after this season is over.

Maybe Madden will come back also,so he can salivate over Farves every move. Then we can get Elway out of retirement so Dick Enberg can make a relevent comment now and then. How he has survived these last few years i don't know.

I thought we had come to some sort of agreement when he conversed last night on the cellio-phonio. We both agreed that you like to moan , bitch and complain about your favorite teams. You enjoy the bitchin` more than you like it when your teams are successful. Its good for you that you follow teams that are habitually bad and disappoint you.

Its an oxy-moron; kinda like you! LOL :banghead: haha

We didn't agree to that. We did however agree that Brett Farve was NOT hurt when he folded up like a cheap accordian last season.

As far as bitching, you are a Strangers and a Mavericks and Stars and Cowpoop fan so what are you talking??? I mean the worst is being a Cowpoop fan. When have they last won a playoff game??? :facepalm2:

As far as a moron, it does take one to know one. That is why we get along. :illogical

I bet ya he's gonna get hurt and will have to sit out the rest of the season, screwing up any chance of him taking the Vikes to the Super Bowl. :flatstare:

You know....I really can't believe all the ill will toward Farve here.

Even being 40....and with a bad arm, he is still a better quarterback than Vick, Orton, Jackson, Rosenfelds, Buffalo's QB's, and more than likely 95% of the back up quarterbacks.
If Farve had not been injured, and taken the Jets far into the playoffs....Jets fans would not be against Farve. Or if he was not injured, then if he had kept up his remarkable season there would be no complaints.
This is a genuine HOF quarterback. He has experience, talent, and a love of the game that is incomparable.
Do I think he did a little number on everyone by waffling worse than John Kerry. Yes. But give the man the respect he deserves as a football player. This isn't Vinny...this is not Jeff George. This is a first ballot HOFer, a legend, and I am willing to give him the benefit of many doubts.

Rob

At his current age? Definitely not better than Vick. If he had not be involved in that dog fighting ring, Vick definitely had a chance at the Superbowl. Crumpler, Vick, Dunn, White? All in there prime while playing in a spread offense? Better than Favre during his late years at Green Bay and his previous year at New York.

In the offense that Favre will be playing in (Run n Gun), he won't be as valuable as Jackson by far. Jackson has mobility, no nagging injuries, and the competitive edge because he had to work this off season for his starting job, unlike Favre who was just handed it.

I did not say a better athlete, but as a quarterback....yes. Vick barely has completed over 50% of his passes for his carrer. Vick is/was a talented athlete, but not that great as a quarterback.

The Run and Gun does not refer to the QB running, but the style of offense. As in a one back set, multiple reciever sets and quick slashing runs as well as quick slants and the ability to make quick decisons on blitz packages and hot routes. Farve has an edge on that.

Rob

Yeah but when your in a shot gun set, multiple receivers, you have to get the ball out fast, but with the more receivers you have, the less blocking you have, and with Favre with his nagging injuries and his lack of mobility, it doesn't help. And how they are experimenting with the Wildcat with the edition of Percy Harvin. How is Favre going to lineup as a receiver and not get hurt?

Perhaps when they go to the wildcat, it will be Harvin with Peterson and Taylor. Taylor has thrown a few passes now and then, it will be a way to save Farve a few downs a game.

Marino, even in his younger days was not as nimble as Farve is now. Farve has the quick mind and can get the ball out. It was his long deep passes that seem to have faded in ability not his quick passes to out routes and slants.

Rob

I agree Favre isn't complete useless and can still deliver a pass on a quick slant, but I am not sure how long he will last just being able to do that.

Thank you Rob

Maybe the knucklehead will read your post and realize he just likes to whine and moan.

I myself am getting quite weary of the Favre saga , but teams keep bringing him back.

Rob

If this offense is based on making "quick decisions" without constantly changing your mind, the Vikings are going to be in for a long season.

Now understand, I am not saying the Vikings are Super Bowl bound, or even a shoo-in for the division. All I am saying is Farve is a capable QB, more so than what they have and more so than some other starting QB's.

He gives them a chance, debateable if its a better chance or not I agree. Just in my opinion, Farve is still a good QB, top 25 at least, while what the Vikes had before were 30th or worst.

And Farve still has a great mind in this offense he has run for many years. Will the recievers be able to step up and earn his trust and the ball...that remains to be seen.

Rob

Oh, if you think I am trying to flame you or get into some heated debate, you got me wrong. He is a good QB, definitely top 25, just not sure how he can really fit in the Viking offense.

You have a deep threat Qb with the arguably the best running back in the game today. It has the potential to wreak havoc on the other teams. Biggest concerns in my opinion are picks and lack of mobility. Can you imagine if Favre could move? The playaction possibilities would be enormous.
Biggest strike against Favre however is the fact he skipped training camp while everyone else was out there bonding and working like dogs. It seems pretty obvious this deal was reached long ago.

Yes Robace and if my aunt had balls she would be my uncle. IF, IF, IF, IF, but he didn't lead the Jets to the playoffs. Funny how come people ignore the fact that I said that Farve was not going to lead the team anywhere and all of you DEFEND his CRUSTY ass. Flock is so far up it the next time Farve goes to the bathroom, Flocky is going to be a Diamond. Farve wants to play football let him go to the senior citizens home and go play some flag football with his 80 year old friends.

And Flock, I may be a knuckle head but I am not lollypop licking. :facepalm2:

I NEVER called you a knucklehead, you made that determination yourself .:hysteriatrain:

Folks , let me sum up the gist of his futile reply

Whine, whine, bitch, moan, complain, complain, complain, bitch, bitch, moan etc.. etc...:wave::wave::wave:

If you listen to G-man, you would think Favre has been the problem with the Jets, since Namath was th QB. :banghead::banghead::banghead:

He makes a great point here although our sigs both point out New York Jet allegance. I mean Favre in like 1997 wouldn't have to have excuses made for him because if his team didn't get a break he would make one. Anyone remember the classic "4th and 23" play against the Eagles in the playoffs? Now I know he's older and the argument is gonna be made that he's still better against the lower skill level of quarterbacks out there but is that really the way Favre wants to be remembered? He went to being the ultimate team guy to nothing more than an overaged, attention *****. His legacy is a joke now because this is the Favre that people are gonna remember. Favre should have stuck to retiring from the Packers and people would have thought of him the way they do John Elway...a consumate football man who sacrificed greatly for his team. Now it's clear that Favre wasn't that at all. Frankly I hate his guts not because he's a drama queen or he gave up on the Jets but because he seems to be the Britney Spears of the NFL. He does this little routine every year at this time! I mean the guy went from leaving on his own terms to what will be down the road a 47 year old back up on any team that will have him. The man is a complete joke. :juggle:

OK, if you aunt had balls.....I'll buy that. But here is something that did happen....
The first 11 weeks of last season.....no complaints. Just praise for Farve.
No saying he was old, no saying he was beyond his time, only happiness that Farve had the Jets at 8-3 and beating the Titans.

Also, eninemjd11..no worries. I did not even think for one second you were flaming or trying to have a heated debate. We were having a discussion, that is all...no worries.

You can hate Farve, that is fine. I am not all giddy about him playing myself. Or the way he has gone about it, but the fact remains at least to me that he has earned through his past the ability to be wishy-washy and a diva. I will call him out for it and agree with it, but it is something in my eyes he has earned.

I disagree. Nobody earns the right to be a d-bag. It's just something you don't do, and if you do act like one, no matter how great you once were, you are still being a d-bag.
