Well...I'm not much into hard liquor, mostly a wine drinker myself, but I drink mixed drinks alot when at a bar like kamikazees,Alabama slammers, etc. But if I drink any liquor straight it's usually one of the flavored brandies or schnapps.
I usually stick with Amaretto, Midori, or Kaluha myself. Can't handle real hard stuff. The cream based tequila's (tequila rose, for example) are good as well.
Every once in a while if I get a hankering to do something a little more stiff, I'll do a shot of Blue 100 (peppermint 100 proof). But that's about as hard as I get. 😉
Jose Cuervo Gold Tequila. Although when I'm in Texas, (quite often) I go across the border and buy Patron Platinum Tequila. Gotta make those Margaritas. And Kaluha! Love my Kaluha.
I used to be a serious whiskey drinker back in the 80s. Jack Daniels, Jim Beam, Old Grandad, Maker's Mark, Wild Turkey, etc. I've been away from all that stuff for quite a few years now but every now and then, I do crave a nice shot of J.D. on a cold winter's night.
Well.....I generally sniff the cork and pass out. 😱 So, there isn't much to pick from. But, when I do have something other than a wimpy wine cooler, it's just a very small amount of pepermint shnopps or a screwdriver (heavy on the OJ and light on the vodka). Actually, I don't care for much else anyway.
I've founf a 12 yr. old single Scottish malt called Strathesla that's Smoother than a baby's bottom.
For Domestic Bourbon Whiskey, I've found a Kty. Bourbon called Buffalo Trace that's real good American Sippin' Whiskey...at a moderate Price, too.
Wild Turkey 101, it does the job, and it actually tastes good.
But if you ever drink three quarters of the bottle along with taking a few too many bumps, you'll feel like you're body was run through a cement mixer the next day.
Chivas Regal is really smooth. Lately I seem to have a sweet tooth. Been drinking Cruzan Banana Rum. Yummy! Another favorite is this hazlenut liqueur imported from Italy called Frangelico. Tastes kind of like Amaretto, but even better.
Jim Beam Whiskey is my top choice. I don't drink it as often anymore but I remember many a time sipping nice warm whiskey on a chilly night. A close second is Captain Morgan Rum (I tend to drink more rum than whiskey anyway), especially Private Stock Captain.....man does that stuff go down ssssmmmooootthhh with a little cherry cola lol
A third choice would be Castillo, preferably spiced but the silver isnt bad either mixed in lighter amounts. Since I tend to drink on what I'll call a "consistent" basis, it's a great tasting rum at an incredible price. Very affordable for my habits lol. I've recently discovered it blends very well with cherry-vanilla-Dr. Pepper.
I used to drink Perma Frost a lot some years back. A 100 proof 'schnapps' that if you drink enough of you'd be hard pressed to remember your own name after a while. I always thought it kinda tasted like a liquified candy cane, had an almost syrupy consistency and strong peppermint taste.
I enjoy a good Margarita....especially the "Spider Cider" Margarita from Margarita's restaraunt. It's made with Tarantula Tequila and Apple Schnapps. I have also recently been introduced to the Cosmo....comes premade in a bottle...just add ice and enjoy! Yummy yummy!
