As a personality and icon, I like John the most, but find George the one I could more identify with. He seemed quiet, reserved and thoughtful.

I believe drummer Pete Best was the 5th Beatle...did he ever get a raw deal!
My favorite from when I grew up with the Beatles was always George. I really like most of his songs. they're still the most likely Beatle tunes to play in my head.

Yes he was Unit,and you are right,he got the short end of the stick.I don't remember the whole story know,but he pretty much got booted from the band before they made it big.

That's only partly right. Stuart Sutcliffe (the band's original bassist), George Martin (the band's producer / arranger / sometime piano player) and a few other studio players could all be considered members.

My personal favorite is McCartney, in part because I am a bass player myself. Both Paul and Ringo had this knack for playing exactly what was needed -- nothing more and nothing less. Listen again to "Something". Although it was George who wrote, sang and played lead guitar, it's Paul's bass part that really makes that song amazing.

Yes that's true,but Pete Best is the only one most people remember,and not many at that.

Fully ELO story....

Back in NY .. I was about 17.. some friends had gotten ELO tickets to the Out of the Blue Concert ( the one with the space ship on stage ). THey had asked me for a ride into the city to meet up with the one friend who was holding the tickets. ( I was not invited ). I gave them the lift.. but they never found the other guy who was holding the tickiets.. so notonly did they not see the concert and they had already paid for their tickets, they ended up going to a movie to see The Muppet Movie ...hahhahaa

Here's a rare clip of British band The Move, which featured Roy Wood and future ELO members Jeff Lynne and Bev Bevan. In fact, check out Jeff on lead vocals and Bev Bevan on drums. This song was the last hit by The Move before they became Electric Light Orchestra, without Roy Wood, of course. (Roy Wood is the hairy guy with glasses and the sax)
