I think this thread needs to make the distinction between "lead singer/ frontman" and "lead vocalist".

I'm going to put my hat in for Mike Patton. He did crazy years before crazy became cool with lead singers like Jimmy Urine (Mindless Self Indulgence) and Serj Tankian (System of a Down). Faith No More was just ridiculous.

Outside of Patton, I'm going to also say Frankie Valli of the Four Seasons, Barry Gibb of the BeeGees, and Nick Drake of Nick Drake and the Bad Seeds.

Wait...what's difference? 😕

Mine, of all time, if I had to pick just one? Axl. Easy.

But this one:

I think you mean Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds. Nick Drake was the early 70s singer/songwriter dude who did the albums "Pink Moon" and "Bryter Later".

Christ Almighty. Thank you for the correction, which was just a retarded thought-fart for me (they're both next to each other on my iPod list!). I like them both, though it's definitely Nick Cave I'm talking about -- I've always been a fan of the loungy, haunting vocals.

Make that distinction as you see it. (Though, for the record, I thought of that myself, but decided against it to avoid... well, confusion.)

So many answers...

And none of them right. *tsk tsk*

1. Peter Gabriel, Genesis.
2. Fish, Marillion.
3. Ozzy Osbourne, Black Sabbath.

:ty:

Edit: I stand corrected. Trekkie seems to be a man of impeccable taste also.

Can someone please asplain to me how I got to the end of this thread and only saw Freddie Mercury once?

You people are fucking INSANE.
