I named my first daughter after my husband, Andrea for Andrew.

My second daughter, Corinne, a name I just liked, that had the same initials as mine, CMK. There is no special reason to like a name for a child. Unless you choose to.

What's it mean?

For a girl, I've always loved the name Julie, or Julie Anne, or maybe Julia. Could call her Jules. And I always fancied the notion of naming a girl Sierra. It's really hard to choose, though. So many beautiful names out there. And you REALLY can't name the child until they're born... until you see them, hold them, have them convey to you what their name ought to be. Sure, that's sentimental hoo-hah, but hey, sue me. Valeria or Valarie... Val for short.

For a man-child, Steve has long since held my favor, and Kirk or Curtis were high on my list as well. There's a singer out there now names Steven Curtis Chapman that's kinda ruined that for me, though. And the cornball patriotic part of my mind always thought it'd be cool to name a boy John Wayne, but can you imagine the life that kid would have to live? He'd kick your ass when he got old enough. And with the Duke as his namesake, he'd by God be able to, you geegollabetcha he would.

Leilani means "Garlanded" and Kai means "Ocean". Doesn't make too much sense in English but it a beautiful name. (in my eyes anyways)

I remember this one time when I was in high school, in my creative writing class we had to write a story about what our lives will be like 20 years from now. What is your career? Did you get married? If so, what's your spouse's name? Did you have children? What are their names? And so on.

I have always liked untraditional names, mainly because some of my relatives on my paternal side have different names. And I've always wanted 5 children: 3 naturally and 2 adopted.

When I wrote that story these were the names I considered for my children:
