Favourite songs at the moment

Splendid topic!
I could go on forever here so if you don't mind how about 2 for each decade I've been around...

60s
The Beatles "Tomorrow Never Knows" (along with many other Beatles songs)
The Outsiders "Time Won't Let Me"
(with a nod to "Grazing in the Grass" ...nice going Drew70!)

70s
Yes "Starship Trooper"
The Talking Heads "Psycho Killer"

80s
The Pixies "Debaser"
The Style Council "My Ever Changing Moods"

90s
The Happy Mondays "Step On"
Vast "Touched"

00's
Sondre Lerche "Two-Way Monologue"
K-OS "Crucial"

This changes often but this is it for today.
On a side note...outstanding siggy animation by Storm Cat. OMG...

Where is RI? I like your choices. Since you have the Happy Mondays, would you perhaps chose anything by Morrissey, James, Oasis, Stone Roses.

As for 00's, Travis, Franz Ferdinand and a host of other bands come to mind.

Newcastle...Yes...I like all of those folks. Which reminds me to add

Was Not Was "I Feel Better Then James Brown" and
Soup Dragons "Divine Thing" from that era.

Sorry to hijack the thread...

never heard of that movie dr bill whats it about? and i'm not to thrilled with gore. but thanks

isabeau :bump:
Then trust me on this: You probably don't want to sit through the entire run-time of "The Devil's Rejects", isabeau{E}. Much like director Zombie's previous "House of a 1000 Corpses", this new movie(playing at a dollar theatre near you right now!) is sort of a homage to sick 60's & 70's sleaze and schlock films. Many hard-to-watch scenes. I'd definately stick with the last minutes if you're going to catch it for the fantastic Freebird rebirth. Even those minutes are plenty bloody.

Can't really narrow it down to any few, anything by Janet Jackson (she would be my all-time favorite) and all of the old school hip hop and R&B, and slow jams compilation. Gotta love the music :bump:

Sandee

Currently...

Chemical Lady by Sasquatch
and
Turnpike by Halfway To Gone

:Hyrdrogen

Well for me its..in no particular order...
The Humpty Dance--Digital Underground
Weve got the Jazz--A Tribe Called Quest
She keeps on Passing me by--The Pharcyde
I am I Said--Neil Diamond
Black Water--Doobie Brothers
Turning Japanesse--The Vapors
Hold me Now--Thompson Twins
Rio--Duran Duran (which was neither a Duran or a Duran LOL)
Big Time--Big and Rich
In Your Eyes--Peter Gaberil

Boy are my tastes across the board huh?

Currently playing...

Teeth from Fudge Tunnel

and

Destined To Fester by Autopsy.

Neither are favorites per se, but just a coupla tapes a friend sent. Not bad for what they are. I've heard of F.T., and I like what I'm hearing right now.

Autopsy is one of those growling cookie-monster-vocals(death metal) kinda groups. I usually get bored real quick with this kinda shit, but these guys are pretty good for the genre.

i also like these songs but dont know the groups

cccccalling but i cant hear you (where he stutters)

get out get out i dont need you anymore (he shouts)

if that makes sense. lol

isabeau (i do believe this makes 500posts) :yowzer:

That one is "Calling" by Taproot. The other one I'm not sure...there are a couple it could be, or I may not have heard it at all...lol

Couple of new ones I've added to my playlist today:

Wake Me Up When September Ends - Green Day
Photograph - Nickelback (they're back with a new album! Woo Hoo!)
Stricken - Disturbed (Ditto! Yeehaw!)

Mimi 🙂

isabeau :cuddle:

I wish you guys hadn't gotten me started on favorite songs... 🙂
Here are some more in my top 100 or so in chrono order (I think).
I promise I'll stop sending these and hogging the thread!

Bob Dylan "Stuck Inside of Mobile with the Memphis Blues Again"
10cc "I'm Mandy Fly Me"
B52s "Rock Lobster"
The Clash "Charley Don't Surf"
Dire Straits "Industrial Disease"
Was Not Was "I Feel Better Than James Brown"
Dead Can Dance "The Ubiquitous Dr. Love"
Stone Temple Pilots "Sour Girl"
Radiohead "Knives Out"
The Eels "Trouble With Dreams"

My favorite song among today's albums is Depeche Mode's new single... "Precious."

Axehandle-- All Redheads Are Crazy

"Let's have a party...on your skin!" :whip:

My new favorite song: "Rip Out The Wings Of A Butterfly" - HIM (Thanks Krokus!!)

My music tastes vary...anything from Louis Armstrong to Ozzie Osbourne I've been in a RAT PACK mood lately

Aint that a kick in the head Dean Martin
Volare Dean Martin
That's life Frank Sinatra
Just the way you look tonight Frank Sinatra
Summer WInd Frank Sinatra

Is HIM an acronym for something?

Y'know, like NIN?

Or is it just the band's name?

Kobby :idunno:

If you were gonna name a band by that particular word, wouldn't you want it spelled HYMN, instead? 😕

Couldn't you just hear Ol' Blue Eyes doing "Crazy Train"?

"We're....goin' off those rails, man...diggin' that, craazy train!"

HIM - His Infernal Majesty

Not 'quite' the "Hymn" you we're thinkin'.... 😉

Get thee away, Satan! :jester:

Now I wanna hear Ministry's Psalm 69...

(Kobb roots through old boxes for audio-tapes)

how could i have forgotten the ultimate cool band of all times????
im talking about cheap trick of course

i want you to want me i need you to want me.

isabeau :wavingguy

ps the singers voice knocks me off my ticklish feet :manicd:

A redneck at heart...

At the risk of "outing" myself as a country music fan, I have to say "Intentional Heartache" by Dwight Yoakam. Mimi will see the humor (albeit BAD humor) in these lines:

"She drove up across the yard and though his mama’s garden
Didn’t touch the brakes, she slammed right into his Chevrolet
Tossed out his clothes, boots, Bud cap, and signed Dale Jr. poster
Then shot the whole mess neon green with a can of DuPont spray."

HERESY!
