Feathers and tickling

How do you rate the role of feathers in tickling? What role do they play for you?

I haven't found them to be the most powerful tickling tool, though they do work for some applications and I've always found them somewhat erotic. I'd like to hear what other people think.

I think you might have said it best yourself, friend.

In certain instances, they're nice. And they do provide that sensual light touch that generally is quite arousing. I suppose it depends on the particular sensitivities of the lee, and on how the 'ler is using it.

They are good to provoke more erotic than tickly feelings...especially on private areas. They do tickle there, but not all that much. Work a little between the toes for me, that's about it.

Feathers are too soft to tickle well. For me they work only on the ears and face. 😀

I think feathers are overrated when it comes to feet (at least the soles). maybe a feather would be effecive on other parts like neck, ears.

Feathers for me are mostly for visual stimulation. I like the visual of it, even knowing it does not tickle very much on most people. Sometimes after finger tickling or other implements feathers can be a great change of pace for some slow light tickling.

But, mostly its a visual stimulation, which is why they are popular in videos. Its hard to see the feet while tickling with hands, hairbrushes and the like. Feathers allow you to see more of the foot, and the color variation of the feather and the foot are always something to look forward too.

It also has to do with the connection most people (even vanilla ones) make between the two things.

I remember the old TMNT (Ninja Turtles, for those not familiar with the acronym), and the villain Don Turtelli. When he'd hold up that feather, everyone knew what was coming. That's what made it great.

Feathers tickle me more than anything else. This is true over most of my body, but especially in those narrow spaces between my toes, where you can't fit a finger in anyway. Try attaching a duck pointer to an electric toothbrush!

Feathers CAN tickle me in some places, like my ears or neck or even my tailbone but that's about it really. They do feel wonderful though when stroked all over my body but not because it tickles, but because it makes me feel super yummy!

Feathers almost never work well, if at all. I've no idea how they've become such tickling symbols. Even the stiff ones tend to be disappointing, and the soft ones are virtually useless. However, they do add a nice colorful visual element those few times that they do work. I'd use them more often in my videos if they weren't such ineffective tools. I mean the stiff ones. I've no use at all for soft feathers. Feather dusters are among the most ridiculous tools used in tickling videos. Fortunately, you hardly ever see them used nowadays.

Depends on the feather itself...turkey feathers are rather stiff and work pretty well on the feet. At least thats been my experience

I've used a stiff feather to great effect in between my girlfriend's toes, but not as effectively as with the WaterPik Power Flosser (which really sucks for flossing).

I don't know, I think feathers may be overrated in some instances (they really don't do much to the feet, at least not the fluffy bit) but they can certainly be effective in some situations. Obvious subjectivity of such topics aside, I feel they are entirely effective under my arms; in fact, it's pretty solid to use a reasonably stiff feather under the arms, because it wouldn't tickle so much that I would feel like I have to pull my arms down, so I could enjoy it more and for longer (it's REALLY difficult/impossible to resist that urge as soon as fingernails get involved, even lightly). Largely speculative, I suppose, as it doesn't really come up very often - I'll talk to my fiancee about it and maybe do some research. :lol:

Again, obviously subjective - I get the impression most of us here like much harder and deeper tickling than I do (I am and always will be a big wuss 🙂 )
