This came about from a conversation in the chat room.

Yea they have the reputation as the standard tickle tool. I can say that they've never really worked on me. Maybe it's a guy thing? Just seems like they are more form over function from my experience.

survey says no......they don't for a lot of people. I WOULD say that in the tickling world, just about the most erotic tickling device is the feather duster, however i'm starting to lean over to makeup brushes (as seen in "fantasy tickles" on tickling paradise) cuz they just appear to work so well as far as how soft and ticklish they are.

If you take a large feather and cut off the soft outer edges to leave the stiffer inner portion, then draw it across soft female skin in long slow strokes, the effect can be quite interesting.

They CAN work, depending on the type of feather, the location its used, and the ticklishness of the lee.

For me, my feet are horrendously feather ticklish. A stiff feather anywhere on the sole, across the tops, or especially between the toes will send me through the roof.

They are effective in a few other locations, too...

I have to agree with everyone here. To start with some people just are not responsive to featheres. For people who are responsive, I think it depends on the level of ticklishness (I have met people who are so ticklish they can not was barefoot on grass), and in many cases the type of feather used. Feather dusters use soft feathers to pick up dust. The big 12" feathers tend to be to big. I find that a small stiff 3 - 4 inch feathers does the job. They tend to be stiff enough, just the fight size, and enable you to not only stroke but to creat randomness such and tracing circles and zig zag on the soles and underarms.

I also think people respond to feathers differently at different times. I have know a couple of people who would find them very ticklish one time and another not. I myself, never used to get a responce out of having feathers used on my feet, but over the years, I have seemed to develope a sensativity to them. When used on my feet, I don't get hysterical like I do when someone uses fingers, but I do get a good laughing going. Especially if more them one person is tickling my feet with feathers.

I second this...
XOXO

Feathers are great to sensitize the skin prior to tickling. the softness and light touch of the feather grazing the skin awakens the nerve endings. Does the feather send me into hysterical laughter? Not usually, although if I'm sensitized enough, ANYTHING can tickle! But they are a great tool, nonetheless. :feets:

It depends on how ticklish the "lee" is.

That would be my answer in a nutshell. Nevertheless, this a very interesting thread, it's great to read about feather-tickling in detail, and apparently it works in real life for some people. I don't know about myself but I'd love to find out. :veryhappy
