Tickletown did get in trouble for hosting mainstream clips and I'd be 1000% postivie that that site is just clips that have originated here, from people like Juggler, Dajerx, profx, etc etc. It looks to be a big ripoff, so be warned.

(people selling mainstream stuff has usually been a rip-off. The only good experience i had buying mainstream clips was many years ago, during the old dial up days, Juggler compiled a cd-r of a ton of clips, all of which now circulate here. Every other time has been lousy pretty much.

how is it that tickletown got into trouble for hosting mainstream clips when other sites like Extremetickling, the HITW gang, and even the TMF can get away with hosting mainstream stuff ?

It is true that quite a few of the clips on this site came from the TMF, but there are over 800 clips on this site, alot of which we recorded ourselves from videos/dvds/tv/etc. and i guarantee that we have alot of clips that you have never seen.

If that's the case, then perhaps you should post some examples as your preview clips rather than ones that have been floating around ad infinitum for ages (such as the Miriam Phileau clip, the April O'Neil clip, the American History X clip). Or at least a LISTING of the clips that one can get if one joins, you know what I mean?

Or to make it even easier for you, just give us a little listing right here, it doesn't have to be the full 800, just list right now some of the clips you've got in there that we won't find anywhere else, I'm sure we'd all be interested, I know I'm very curious, what are some of the exclusives we would be able to look forward to, should we choose to join your site?

PS: One REALLY annoying thing about the clips you did post was putting your logo on the beginning and end of the clips.......I HATE that when people/companies do that. And you guys have it, like, flipping around at the end, and it's just really distracting and annoying, just have the clip, it doesn't need your logo on the beginning and the end of it, most mainstream clips are short enough without having to add 5 seconds. I mean, if it's JUST on your preview clips, that's one thing....but if ALL of your clips are like that, that's really annoying.

Its also worth mentioning that, minus the logos, the clips you posted are exact matches to the ones already circulating the tk community. This is wierd since you claim that you've recorded most of the clips yourself.

Ah, so what you are saying is that you are charging people to see clips of materials that others own the copyrights to....

For the record, TickleTown never got "in trouble" for hosting mainstream tickling clips, when we did it for free, or when it was part of our membership package. It was a pre-emptive measure as a result of legal counsel. Someone we dealt with (I think it was CCBill or our webhost) mentioned it too, so at the time I felt it was wise to just pull them.

A shame, really. I'd love to see a mainstream archive available and searchable for the entire community. But until intellectual property laws become relaxed...

Hehe, don't sweat it. Inflection is a difficult thing to get across in online speech, but I'm not in the least bit offended. I admit the quotation marks may make it sound pissy, but it wasn't intended to be.

These issues are good to bring up and discuss, since they can affect a lot of people.

I imagine that by now this site, the TMF, has about as many mainstream clips as any - most likely more than any other site around.This section alone, in its relatively short life has over 630 posts, not all of which, of course, contain clips, but certainly have most of the up-to-date stuff.
There is, of course, a lot of older stuff, some of which I have collected from various sites, including the late, but not particularly lamented, Tickleworld.com.
However, much of the stuff is pretty lame and of poor quality.
I should like to see a little more than an ad saying that there are 800 clips on a site, as was said above.
The question is would I want them. No idea if I don't know what is there.

I would be very wary of joining this site. The owner claims that he has many original clips(never seen before), but none of these clips appear in his previews. We've seen all these clips before. The owner has not given a list of clips, and my guess is that he will not give one. He may have a couple orignial clips, but I doubt he has too many, and who know what type of quality those are. The price of $17.99 a month is outrageous.
My advice: DO NOT JOIN THIS SITE.

No offense intended. But, I think I'll stick with the TMF for now...esp. given the lack of information on what you have to offer that isn't available elsewhere. Have you considered listing what's available and possibly some of what's planned for future updates? That might help folks out enough to get some interest. At this point, if anyone asked me, I'd probably be telling them to stay clear...at least for now.
