Finding like minded people

How would you guys and gals go about finding people of similar interests, specifcally fetish interests. I live in a small town, so options are limited, but I do live a few hours from several larger towns and cities. I want to broaden my horizons a bit, but my meeting people and making friends skills are a bit rusty. Suggestions are welcome.

Best way I've found is just lots and lots of elbow grease on the forums here and on other tickling sites. It works but it is ballaching I'm afraid.

I'd post fairly often on tt so girls can see you for who you really are. It makes you more approachable. I suppose it couldn't hurt to advertise either in the personals. But for the most part I've found it's location, location, location. Unless the person is willing to travel or is fairly close by, I usually don't hold much interest. Also, when you speak with her, try not to only talk about tickling. It makes it seem it's all you're interested in which may hold people back from talking with you. I tried to get a chat going through yahoo or aim but it didn't seem like anyone was interested. Hit and miss I guess.

To me, the above makes the most sense. It would be how I approach it.
It's just going to take time and luck. It took me five years to get lucky, and luck had everything to do with it.

When I first got into the tickle world it was quite hit or miss for me. I was always disappointed and went along with whatever I was told to do. By year four, that got old fast. So I left for about a year- or a little more actually.

I happenchance meeting with a great tickle top changed my whole life and world around, and changed they way I look at, approach and play in this scene for me forever.

When we spoke, it was seldom about tickling itself [yes, there were some in-depth conversations about it but they were not the goal every time], it was about life and many other things.

You've got to be realistic too. I live in a small town in PA, so I know how hard it is to find others. Luckily our group meets here and around this area, sometimes just one on one too. Finding a person who plays at your level is as important as finding one close enough to meet you too. Be smart about both.

If you're heavily into this, don't think you can bring someone along to your levels. It could happen but it would take a great amount of time. Ticklers are usually set in their ways. If you like only the fun side, stick to that type. Heavy play? Stick to that. If you're rangey, very good. Your chances are better.

I have had the pleasure of meeting a number of wonderful ticklees through here, TMF, Tickling Community and some of the Yahoo groups that I'm a member of. It certainly doesn't hurt to post on forums and in groups so people can get a "feel" for you (pun intended of course). I do find that I've cut back substantially on my thread posting these days for a number of reasons but an occasional PM to people that seem to have a passion for tickling or being tickled often stimulates dialog as well. I love discussing wide ranges of topics but can also get into very deep tickle talk when the situation presents itself. I use AIM and Yahoo Mesenger a lot as well which do help you get to know a person if you can get them to correspond.

My tickling styles are very varied so as Kay mentions above it allows me to meet a wider range of ticklees.

Be smart, safe, fun & passionate about all of your interests and desires and you will be rewarded accordingly...
