Anybody else here catch the coverage of flight 292's emergency landing at LAX on Wednesday night ? A beautiful outcome indeed.
Just ask the 139 innocent souls who sauntered off the aircraft after it landed with essentially no front landing gear. God was on duty this time.

I think it was just a regular airline pilot doing what he knows how to do in a tight situation. A very good landing.

Indeed. The way they explained it, he kept the plane for the most part balanced on the rear tires through the landing, taking the majority of the weight off the front landing gear. Buy that man a beer

I heard they asked the heavier passengers to move to the back of the plane~is that true?

I watched this near-disaster happen live on TV. The pilot crew of that plane is damn good. I hope they get raises, and their jobs are definitely secure now.

I would say that's true. It would help keep weight off that twisted front landing gear.

Apparently some of the passengers on board were also watching coverage of
this as it was happening to them on TVs in the plane. Must have been really weird...I think I would have been a little spooked out by that!
