NEW SMYRNA BEACH, Fla. - Police are on the lookout for the naked tickler. Investigators said they believe one man could be responsible for a series of bizarre break-ins in which a naked man enters victims' rooms while they are sleeping and tries to tickle their feet.

The naked tickler struck again in New Smyrna Beach over the weekend.

Investigators have been working on five similar, unsolved cases since 2001. Most of the victims are women over age 60, said police Cmdr. Wade Kirby.

Kirby said no arrests have yet been made because they don't have a lot to go on.

New Smyrna Beach is 44 miles northeast of Orlando.

I was glad only that the police thought this idiot was tickling old women's feet for the shock value and not cuz it's a fetish. Ugh, can't we get more good publicity like how Drew Barrymore did for tickling!

Living in Florida, I'd say this story was on everytime the news had a report. I actually saw three different broadcasts throughout the day at different times and the one thing that I felt was disturbing was that, to me, most broadcasts laughed and giggled at the crime. It's as if some of the news stations were trying to make this person into a local legend!

I'm sorry I brought this to lite in the 'Mainstream finds' I didn't realize it would become such an issue. If I see something on the news, to me that is mainstream, whether it is good or bad. I'm not promoting what the person is guilty of; however I felt some beligerence to even bringing it to subject in the 'Mainstream section'. Truthfully you did a little bit. I understand why you posted it there, but I think this is much more a disturbing and appalling crime than it is anything to do with tickling, and I really feel like people are focusing on the wrong aspect of it.

The mainstream section is where people post tittilating sightings of tickling that occur in various forms of media, and this is not that at all. This person is preying on helpless women and terrifying them. I would be scared out of my mind if I woke up to find a naked guy in my bedroom. I'd kill him, but I'd be scared first, and I'm not a 60 year old woman. I think that aspect is a lot more significant than the fact that he tickles them.

I usually only post if nobody else has already posted the news I have heard or surfed. I've done that since Pyscho ran the previous forum. That is too bad you took offense to me merely reporting what I saw on local TV news. (because the only post you've responded to is mine) What maybe you don't realize in all my posts is that I'm on the same side as you (review them), yet you've taken offense. Don't kill the messenger man : ) just one of the many minions reporting something...simple as that. Many times I've read disconcerting news on this forum...I just don't get worked up about it (not worth it). Especially if the member feels the same way I do.

Here it is, I think the person should be apprehended and placed in prison as the 'Naked Tickler'...how long do you think he would last in a maximum security prison as the 'Naked Tickler' being his moniker? I can see it now...
A few hard-core brothers step-up to him and say "Yo! So you're the naked tickler!"......imagine what happens next.

I don't think I took offense at anything you said, and I wasn't offended that you posted it, but I did feel that the post was in the wrong forum. It wasn't aimed personally at you, and I don't think what I did can fairly be called killing the messenger. 🙂

Since this event took place there have been four threads started about it: two in tk discussion, one in general discussion, and one in the mainstream forum.

Of those, the one in the mainstream forum struck me as being the least appropriate and most out of place, so I closed it. I'm sorry if that offends you, but those kinds of judgement calls are there to be made. I didn't think this was a mainstream sighting, and looking back at the decision I don't think I was wrong. Normally I'd have moved it, but where was I going to put it? Here in TK dis with the other two just like it?

No shit, huh! WTF, people? Not that I'm out tickling gals in their 60's, mind you, but I sure as hell wouldn't let their age stop me if they were a member of the community, either! And one of the most ticklish women on the planet I know personally is in her 50's (52 in a few days, in fact), but going on 15! They say laughter keeps you young!
