Foot Fans: Does location make a difference?

I am hoping to recieve some input from foot-lovers as to the general location of their upbringing. If you're posting from the U.S., maybe your State, or even just New England, or Midwest, Westcoast, etc.

I have a pet theory that the majority of foot-fans were raised in cooler climes, thus making the sighting of feet a more rarified event. I considered making this a poll, but I suspect that some people may be like me in that they only rarely if ever visit that sub-section of the forum.

So, please, if you adore feet the way other men go ga-ga for breasts or asses, drop a line here letting us know where you were raised, and by all means, if you have any input or thoughts on this theory, I'm all ears.

As far as myself: most of my upbringing was down South, in the Bible-belt. Bare feet(or feet in open-toed shoes and sandles) are a common sight, here. Thus, I suspect I never really developed as much of a "thing" for them as I might have growing up somewhere where it might be a rare event to spot a bare foot.

Certainly a climate is capable to guage relevancy.

Yet concering the encroaching subject of foot-fans, I, Garimto, believe it to be erroneous. While perhaps the fans are inept in colder regions, even within the uncomfortable villages of the south, the foot-fan remains a dubious device in the eyes of most. Though comfort is necessary, certainly one may not disagree with the underlying concept of such a fan, yet the foot?

I, Garimto, remain steadfast within the trust for the hand-fan.

Location... yes! It defintely makes a difference! Feet must be located at the end of legs... nothing else will do! (more seriously, I hail from Northern California; mild winters and blazing hot summers. Perhaps mine is the exception that proves the rule.)

I am from Belgium, Europe, which has the average climate. Winters are not to cold and our summers have only recently started to heat up (climate change, probably) But I do not think location has anything to do with it.
I go with the theory (stated by a leading neurophysician who's name escapes me at the moment) that foot fetishism has a neurological origin, that the brain centre which controls sexual stimulus lies adjectant to the centre that holds the information about feet. It is possible that data is swapped between these two centres, which could explain culturally established things like the interest in shoes and the use of anklets, toerings, nailpolish even amongst non-fetishists. In a fetishist's brain these two centres did not seperate when his/her brain was formed before birth, and remain fused together.
This could explain the fact that many foot-lovers (including myself) cannot point out a cause or a moment of origin for this fetish in their lives.
It's just a theory though... but it seems logical to me.
Another interesting thing I read in a book is that perhaps our period in time has to do with it. Foot fetishes have been cultivated during several heights of civilization: Ancient Egypt, Ancient Rome, Ancient China and Russia (at the court of czarina Catherine the Great). I the middle ages hardly anyone was interested in feet, as most people went barefoot and their soles had a half a centimeter thick layer of callus and were stained by dirt particles permanently embedded in their skin. Not really an arousing sight.
Due to carpeting and comfortable footwear, feet are a much more pretty sight in our modern age, nurturing any potential fetish that might be latent in us. This to is just a theory, but it kind of makes sense I guess... 🙂
