Foot Fetish Vs. Tickle Fetish Is there a difference?

To answer your initial question, there is a difference.

A fetish is a fixation on an inanimate object or body part from which sexual gratification or obsession is derived.

A Paraphilia is a fixation on behavior from which sexual gratification or obsession is derived.

I understand the definitions..I actually touched base on them in my thread.

I suppose I formed the question a bit off.

What I am trying to figure out is why it's such a staple in the community. Why are the two compared so much, This causing me to try and figure out the mind of a foot fetishist and mesh that with one of a tickle fetishist.

I know about the sensory workings of a foot, I'm trying to figure out why the two are so closely bound.

According to most experts (as well as informal but extensive research), it's mostly males who are aroused by female feet.

Of course, gay and bisexual male foot fetishists do like men's feet, sometimes quite intensely. And some lesbians are turned on by women's feet. As for straight women, they might be turned on by a man's feet, and several have deeply enjoyed pleasuring their male partners' feet.

But women very rarely lust after men's feet, at least not to the fetishistic extent that so many guys lust after ladies' feet. Thus, when I speak of foot fetishists, I usually refer to them as male.

This topic does carry the potential to become a round and round, and we will begin touching base on aforementioned points.

I know that i love MY feet pampered and tickled, and it does cause arousal. This sounds like a foot fetish?

I know i like guys that are into doing this WITH me, and yet I have no interest per say in mens feet. But do guys that tickle MY feet have a tickle or foot fetish? Assuming they tickle me all over, it's a tickle fetish, or if the principal object of their tickling is my feet, and this visible arouses them, then definitely a foot fetish... I think. And then there are those i have to ask to tickle me, and they have neither a foot nor tickle fetish...

Crystal, I can at least partially answer your question about the mind of a foot fetishist as opposed to the mind of a tickle fetishist, because, until 1997, I did not consider myself a tickle fetishist, but have I been a foot fetishist for as long as I can remember.

Before I started writing to my pen pal Don Fraser, and I developed my tickle fetish through correspondence with him, I was just a foot fetishist. I used to love to see female feet, and, my fantasies would revolve around massaging the bare female feet I saw, or kissing them, or sucking on the toes. Clear foot fetishist activities. I did tickle the feet of a few girls, and female couneslors, in both summer camp and college, but most of those were during foot massages, or joining in with friends, who were already tickling the girls involved, to help my friends with the tickling. My main goal was looking at the feet, and the idea of being able to touch the feet, and the tickling part was really non existent. To Mitch the foot fetishist, seeing the feet, and touching the feet was fine.

Since 1997, the tickle fetish has taken over, and is at least as strong, if not stronger, than the foot fetish. Now, I'll see a pretty girl, and, while I still enjoy seeing feet, my mindset is :" Hmm, I wonder where she's ticklish, and what her tickle history is, and who has tickled her". This is clear tickle fetishist thoughts. While I still enjoy the idea of tickling feet, I also would have no problem tickling a girl who had a very ticklish belly or ribs or sides.

My main point is this: A true foot fetishist, like I used to be before 1997, can see, touch, and be in contact with feet, without thinking about tickling. The tickling thought is secondary, or at times, non existant, as it used to be for me until 1997. A tickle fetishist, on the other hand, may well enjoy tickling all body parts, and his or her main objective is to tickle someone, or get tickled, and not to worry about where they are tickling, or being tickled, or to focus on feet. For the foot fetishist, the main focus is just on feet, often times, and for some people, with no thought to tickling. While the tickle fetishists may cross over, their main goal and enjoyment is the love of tickling, and they dont have to be in contact with feet, or have their feet tickled, to be aroused by tickling.

I dont know if I'm oversimplfying this, but as my tickle fetish came much, much later than my foot fetish, this is the only explanation I have, at least for myself.

From what ive seen, people with a tickle fetish, tend to also have a foot fetish, but people with a foot fetish, dont usualy like tickling. They just like to spunk over feet.

For as long as I can remember I've always been attracted to women's feet. I suppose I'm one of those hardwire types.
The first time I ever touched a woman's bare foot was when I was a little boy. A friend of my mother's was watching us kids and decided it was nap time. So the kids were all huddled on one bed and my mom's friend on the other.
She was barefoot. Laying on her side so that the soles of her feet faced me. I laid there in the bed across the room fascinated by the sight of her bare feet. Finally, I was literally compelled to go over and take a closer look, finaly I ran a finger across those amazing objects. The moment was shattered when she yelled at me to stop touching her feet and go lay down.
The foot fetish was most pronounced for the majority of my life. Tickling really began to manifest itself as a turn-on in high school. But the female foot in and of itself still reigns supreme.
As some others have stated there are women who like having their feet as objects of adoration and others who loathe it--while my passions remain constant.
My girlfriend in graduate school did a lot of research just like this--she was fascinated by my fascination of her feet. She never came up with any clear-cut descriptions or explanations that satisfied her. And I don't think there is any.
All I know if that for me, there is nothing more compelling than the sight of a bare female foot; the softness and scent of it is equally compelling; tickling feet is a high that I don't think can be described by mere words (I'm a writer but this is one aspect where even I can't muster the correct phrases).

Regarding "sexual gratification" in the definitions, is it a necessary and sufficient condition? How is "sexual gratification" defined? What is sexual? Does it mean certain activity in certain parts of the brain? Or does it mean erection of certain parts of the body?
Is it possible that one likes tickling for non-sexual fun? For example, is the desire to humiliate and make another beg for mercy also considered "sexual"?In many of the videos sold in this forum, the tickling is F/F. Now, assumed the female ticklers enjoy it, do they have "sexual gratification" in the process? I do not think the female ticklers want to have sex with the ticklees, or anyone for that matter. They have gratification alright, but why is the gratification sexual?
When I was 7 or 8, I remember I liked tickling my younger brother. I do not think I knew anything about sex at that time. Can it be sexual without the person knowing it is sexual? Alternatively, is it fair to say I did not have a fetish at that time because my "fixation on the behavior" does not derive a _sexual_ gratification? That's what I mean by not hardwired. I thought by hardwired was meant born with it. I'm saying, like you seem to be, that fetishes develop because of experience, in your case the babysitter, not because of being born pre-determined like that.

I agree with this. I'm convinced that like gender preference, a fetish is something that occurs at the earliest during a child's developmental stages rather than something that's passed onto us genetically at birth. There are two reasons I believe that people cling to the idea of being born with a sexual preference or fetish.

1) We can't remember ever being otherwise. Since our earliest memories corroborate our sexual interest, we surmise it was there from birth.

2) Misplaced guilt. We feel guilty, freaky, or out-of-sync with the rest of society because of our sexual interest. If we can convince ourselves and society that we were born with it, that relieves us from any responsibility and goes a long way toward justification and acceptance.

I've been obsessed with tickling for literally as long as I can remember, but at no time did I ever associate a tickling fetish with a foot fetish until I began discovering tickling media. Specifically, the only tickling I could find was in Foot and Bondage rags. Though I'm enamored of tickling in nearly all of it's forms, I have little to no interest in the human foot as anything beyond locomotion.

While I realize that a good chunk of our community also shares a foot fetish, there are enough of us who don't to answer the question of whether they are the same with a resounding "no."

as an infant, a drooling jaba would crawl up to anything that didnt scurry away, and pop it into his mouth. Marbles, army action toys, dog food pellets, everything. Of all the found edibles, Lady toes tasted the best, and created the most animated reactions. Plus, they look like jellybeans when the nails are painted. I've had a fascination for womens feet from an early age that has doveloped into a sexual fettish and this has always been coupled with tickling them. If I have a girlfriend I love to spend time on her feet, tickling, massaging, toe sucking and washing them and it turnes me on. I'm not saying I prefer her feet to making love to her but all the same I can be just as happy if i'm playing with her feet in one way or another and doesn't necerserily need to lead any futher. As someone who has a tickle fetish but not a foot fetish I clearly think they are different. For me it's about the reaction of the 'lee. Or often, my reaction since I am more of a 'lee. I obviously would tickle a lady's feet if that's where I got the best reaction but it's not my first choice. If I were creating a 'lee for myself and had to pick the areas I wanted to be most ticklish, feet would be way down the list.

Depends on whether you lee or ler...

I was first and foremost a 'lee - I didn't become a 'ler until much later.

I'd suggest that many of the foot fetishists on here are also "hardwired" 'lers rather than 'lees, but I have no statistics to back that up.

I'd be interested what other people think on the matter though.
