For those with pierced tongues:Dental Problems and tongue rings

Hey all

Well finally got up the cojones to get my tongue pierced( have been debating it for about 2-3 years.. didn't get it when I was married out of respect to the ex who was not into those sorts of thingss).. cause I love the way the damn thing looks.( andx certain other sensations it generates too,, but tis another story for another day!😉 )
My main question is dental concerns that occur when you have a tongue ring. I have 5 very close friends( 3 female 2 male) who have tounge studs, and out of the 5, 4 have experenced some sort of denta problems, liek receeding gums, chipped teeth ect, mostly from compulsive and habitual clicking of the ball againg the teeth ect?

Also my freinds have said that getting an acrylic ball instead of a metal one cuts down on mouth/toot damage?
Has anyone here had any dental problems due to their rongue ring

Oh and I KNOW they feel awesome when lick tickling

Congrats on the piercing! You (and she) will love it!

I don't have any dental problems with mine (You just have to be more careful than you used to be!) and please, no acrylic--it's a breeding ground for bacteria--much more so than any other material...

And they DO feel awesome, got that part right! 😀

congrats on the piercing, i have had mine done for 6 years, but trust me metal is the way to go it is easy to keep clean and it has a better chance of staying non infected...acrylic is good and pretty but you will bust more balls with your teeth (that didnt sound right) and mjetal will dull your teeth if you play with it too much and tongue rings do not make anything feel better, they only get in the way for me personally, but hell if they work for you for certain things go for it....but it is better to stay with a metal bar bell especially to sleep in..do not get it gauged untill it is fuly healed i have mine gauged to a 10 but it is quite a bit bigger but have fun with it and keep it clean!

And Ghost--do you mean an actual "ring" or were you using the term loosely? You weren't actually pierced with a cbr, right??

Mine didnt hurt it was just uncomfortable at first because of the wieght, but now when i take my bar bell out i can move my tongue FAST!..lol...but nipple rings??? i got those too and i got another piercing..well uhhh..ya know "below the belt" hehe..and i have my ears gauged but not very big to where it is disgusting and steph..i know how you feel bout having nipples played with but trust me it doesnt take that long to heal if you keep yourself clean and all, but my nipples are WAY more ticklish now..lol..i love it and especially the "other: piercing....OH MY GOODNESS *faints*...lol

Ok then since you're familiar, here's my only other dilemma--what happens if the nipples are obscenely ticklish to begin with? I'm terrified to lose that--the guy that did my hood looked at mine and said "you'll experience no diff" but I'm still worried--I do love the look though--super hot!

I've said it before, and I'll say it again...

...EVERY man who loves to give his woman pleasure should have one of these babies! I got mine as a birthday present from one of my best friends, as a concession since he's been trying to get me to get tattoos for years, but I just won't do it, so instead he took me and got our tongue studs, since I'd mentioned toying with the notion of getting it done. Man, I wish I'd gotten it done twenty friggin' YEARS ago! This thing is AWESOME! But yeah, there are some valid concerns about hygiene and dental work, but if you're a clean person at all, with any self-discipline, they won't be a problem for you. My dentist never fails to comment on how great my teeth look for someone with a stud in, normally she sees chipped teeth because, yes, they are addicting as hell to play with constantly. And when I went in to get a shorter bar, the guy at the piercing place was amazed at how clean it was, so I guess there are those horror stories out there, but if you just take simple care of yourself, like you should be doing anyway, having the stud in your tongue won't make any difference whatsoever. And as far as the potential for oral damage, well, I can only advise you to be careful, I've had mine for four years now without anything negative happening. DO IT! You'll be SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO glad you did!

As far as you gals poking holes in your tender bits, well, let me just say, FRIGGIN' YIKES!!!!! Sure, it may be worth it, but owie owie owie! NO!

Oh, my tongue ached constantly until I shrunk to a shorter bar. I LOVE it now!

And as for the tender bits part--LOL, right TS? It's like 2 seconds of the most horrific pain in your life and then..it's done, nothing but pleasure. It's my fastest healing piercing and the only one that gave me ZERO trouble--no after care, no nothing--and don't EVEN get us going on what it does for sensation, you've NO idea (sighs) I think I need a cigarette and I don't even smoke <gg>

No, no Tron, even a guy who's amazing at it, this just adds another dimension IMHO...EVERYWHERE I lick a guy with my pierced tongue, it tickles...

For example, I love having my nipples licked--the first time a guy with a pierced tongue did it I almost came from that alone and with a pierced clit, well...I'll let TS take it from here if she wants to...<gg>

A guy's tongue there feels incredible as is to us girls but it's so much more mind blowing if he's pierced and almost comatose inducing if SHE'S piereced too-like me and TS can attest to...God...I need a ciagarete now....
