Frank Gifford dead at 84

Just read that Frank Gifford passed away today. Kind of puts a damper on the Pro Football Hall of Fame Inductions.

I was alive to know Gifford as a consummate play-by-play man of Monday Night Football.

I didn't know much about his playing days except for the iconic photo of Chuck Bednarik standing over a prone Gifford after a vicious tackle that left some people wondering if Gifford would get up.

Sad day for pro football and the sports community in general.

Sad day.

As one looks back on Mr Gifford's life, they have reason to smile. Mr Gifford had a wonderful life.

Mr Gifford lived a long life, and had many children, and grandchildren, and a beautiful, and famous wife.

He was a mega famous football broadcaster, and football star.

On a day such as this.. if the passing is not someone.. personally in my life, and is a famous person, who had a long life.. I try to focus on the positives of their life, the good they did, and the good feelings that others had about them.

Frank Gifford was certainly loved, both personally by his family of course, and by the millions who watched him as football star, and football broadcaster.

When Gifford was on his way out of calling games, I was just getting into football as a kid. Now the only time I get to hear him call games is when I look at Classic NFL Games.

Defiantly one of the best to ever do it.
