Approximately 4600 Americans receive full disability becasue they are so ticklish they can't hold jobs, according to the latest government report.

About 20 percent of them refuse to leave their homes becasue of an overwhelming fear of being tickled by a total stranger.



Now where would they get an idea like that?!?!!

World Weekly News

That is funny. Isn't The World Weekly News one of the only true news sources. I remember in the movie "Men in Black" that is what the men in black believed. I use to subscribe to this publication just for laughs and I remember a story of a women who sued her ex-husband because he constantly tickled her. Another story reported Russians testing potential KGB agents to see if they were ticklish. They wanted to make sure if an agent was captured, the other side couldn't tickle government secrets out of them. Isn't this a common tickle theme in our favorite videos and stories? 😉
 
But, but, I didn't see that in the Times...

And to think I've been wracking my brain trying to devise a foolproof
disability scam. I just pray the insurance doctor is a woman...
 
It sort of makes sense if you think about it. A tkphile gets hired to the WWN staff and has to come up with a bunch of silly stories with some tiny thread of realism tethering them to the planet. So they decide to throw in a bunch that incorporate our favorite subject. Clinical tickle-phobes? KGB tickle testing? To most, just goofy enough to make the Weekly World News, but to us, intriguing ideas. Fun for all!

Actually, in Bleu Production's tickle video 'Converted to Tickling, the fact of over 4000 people disabled because they are 'too ticklish' was mentioned years ago. The number seems to have increased in the meantime... 🙂

BTW: They also mention that "Led Zeppelin's Jimmy Page is an S/M aficionado; groupies say 'when Jimmy ties you up, you better be ready to get tickled crazy'." No comment… 😀

What I'd like to know is who is the ticklephilie writing for the World Weekly news? Think about it, if we get in touch with this guy (or gal 😉) we could get him or her to write some pretty interesting stories about our favorite topic!
 
If we could just get the WWN to run a story about how people can lose weight by being tickled ... that would be a huge help in future recruiting efforts.

I don't know what's so funny about having a phobia that is so severe that the people don't dare leaving their houses!

I just wonder why anybody wouldn't be able to hold a job because of being ticklish??? THAT sounds like a sorry ass excuse to me! 🙂

i don't think it's funny at all

but as for being able to hold a job because of being too ticklish... it might seem unusual to us on a tickle forum with having the fetish.... but not everyone has this fetish, some people are really scared of it, and so it can be disabbling....

It's totally understandable that you can't hold a job if you don't dare to leave the house, but it doesn't seem like all the people who get full disability for this reason aren't able to leave the house....or am I reading it wrong? It says something about 20%? So I would say 20% of those 4600 people can't leave the house because of the phobia. What about the other 80%? How would being too ticklish keep you from holding a job?

Is this really for REAL???

I will assume so since it seems to come to us in seriousness from an esteemed member who gets it from a for real news source...but REALLY???? A government study that produces these numbers? The government pays out social security disability benefits or an insurance company does from being too ticklish to hold a job or leave home?

How does one pass the disability test...what is the criteria or qualifications? Is this a for real medical condition?

Just because I have never heard of such does not make it false but it sure is AMAZING!

A severe phobia of course is a medical condition, and one you really don't want to have!
 
I work for the SSA, and I've heard a few things like this (high sensitivity to light, etc.). I always think that, if they have to send you in for the certified medical exam to get a doctor's evidence, how do they prove it's true? What test do you think they would use?
 
Man, ten years old!!

That's like, 9 years....and then waiting one more year!!

Or 11 years, then getting trapped in a time portal one year earlier!

I'm used to seeing the perpetual old RealTickling threads bumped every month or week, but now misc. threads, who'd have thunk?!
