Funny Tickling Reference in The Prisoner of Azkaban.

I figure a couple of you might have kids reading the Harry Potter books. This is from page 2 of the third book, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. It's from Harry's History of Witchcraft textbook. 😉


Non Magic people (commonly known as Muggles) were particularly afraid of magic in midieval times, but not very good at recognizing it. On the rare occasion that they DID catch a real witch or wizard, burning had no effect whatsoever. The with or wizard would perform a basic Flame Freezing Charm and then pretend to shriek with pain while enjoying a pleasant tickling sensation. Indeed, Wendelin the Wierd enjoyed being burned so much that she allowed herself to be caught no less than forty-seven times in various disguises.

Hehe, wonder what Miss Rowling does in her spare time? 😛

Two things.

1. Not to be a party pooper, but this thread should be in the mainstream section of this forum.

2. Yes!!! I love that little reference. Also, in the Chamber of Secrets, Harry casts a tickling charm on... well, Draco. I know it is a lousy choice, but think of the other possiblities of that particular charm. I think old Rita Skeeter (from The Goblet of Fire) coul use a few good laughs, eh?

Not top be a defensive type, but I never go to the mainstream forum, and since this is tickling related, I figured it would be ok here. if it were worth mentioning, the mods probably would have scooted it for me. 🙄Sheesh.So much for lighthearted posting without someone needed to stick a pin in it.
