It seems to come with the territory. When posting my ads on Craigslist, I never had a problem, but the notorious no shows started happening after that jerk medical student killed a masseuse in Boston, and Craigslist had to do away with the adult section that I had to post on Backpage. A third of the models will flake out, even for the meeting at a coffee shop to talk before hand.
Even with the cell phones, they won't answer when you try to call, only to sometimes drop an e-mail afterwards with a phony excuse. One I've heard three times from different so called models is an old friend suddenly came to town unannounced, and they had to drive out to the airport to pick them up. I can even call out one here in Seattle called Jade who stood me up twice, but still kept responding to my ad repeatedly.
One problem may be from the population growth in some areas. Out here we've had a somewhat Asian Invasion happening. The women who use to work as sensual masseuses for decades around here have suddenly been getting severe competition from young asian women flooding the advertising as a means of easy money. I've known two women who have been hurt seriously financially from this flood. Not that long ago, one had to go to a massage parlor to enjoy these experiences, some started to become independent agents, but a few years ago, that all changed. One is still working but at the level of poverty now, while another I know fell into alcoholism and started having serious problems. She disappeared a year ago, and I don't know if she is still even alive.
The ever fluctuating marketplace isn't as stable as it had once been, and I believe the problem isn't going to resolve itself soon.
