getting "past the point of no return" in a conversation

So, I like to find ways of bringing up conversations with people casually and somehow the convo gets on tickling briefly so I know their feelings on it, if they're ticklish etc. A lot of times it works. Talking about foot massages, massages, pedicures...all the "accidental" tickles are good ways of getting adults who are not a part of our world to talk about tickling and not think it's a weird conversation until you make it weird...

Well, there is one girl, an acquaintance of mine that I've been sporadically trying to have this happen for years to no avail. First I talked about how I'm good at foot massages and all I got was "I'm sure that's something people would enjoy! Especially if you're good at it." I mentioned something to do with being ticklish for massages in an email, got no response to that, and didn't talk to her for a long time.

Then I tried to tell her about a game to play with a girl she was nannying for that has to do with not laughing and keeping a straight face while the other person tries to get you to laugh...I was sure I was going to get something out of her, but all I got was "one time I had to set a rule. NO touching my feet!" and she said "I could see how that could be a problem", but no admit. I've checked in with her to see if she's played the game but she hasn't a couple times, but don't want to appear that I'm obsessed with this game.

What other ways have you been able to get tickle info out of people without directly asking?

I believe that after your second attempt to get somebody to talk about tickling, it is best to drop the subject with that person.

Yeah, it actually sounds like she's picked up on the fact that you mention tickling alot already. If she's avoiding responding about it it means she's uncomfortable with the topic (for whatever reasons) Probably best to just let it go 🙂

Contrary to what a lot of people think it's actually less awkward to do this in real life conversation than it is on internet text. Things can get lost in translation via text, and you can actually take a "creepy" comment and make it work irl depending on approach it. One method being just say that you like it, leave it at that, and just deal with their reaction. You don't exactly blurt out it's a fetish and you're on a message board dedicated to it and download porn clips where women are tickled on their feet for 10, 15 minutes at a time, but if it comes up, why not own up to it.

Unfortunately, agreed. I try to spell it out for people I date that tickling is a guaranteed arousal topic for me. Then, when it's least expected, the prodding begins, ever so gently...

The verbal warning is all I give. If they can take it (on a very reasonable level) they stay. If not, it's back to hunting.

I don't know how you'd sneak this into a convo without coming out of left field, but it is certainly possible.

"Funny story. I just had my annual check up at the doctors. You know the part where they check your belly? Well, it tickled so bad so I did my best to bite my lip and hold it in but finally I couldn't take it anymore and I nearly fell off the table laughing, lol! Has that ever happened to you??"
