This just hit me lookin round at the general discussion section threads..take a very close look at a little over 50% of the topics here...they are all morbid to one extent or another..this place def aint what it used to be when I first found it 4 1/2 years or so ago

When you are comfortable with people, that is when you can share your real feelings and inner thoughts... And since we here at the TMF all share a common interest that isn't considered "normal"... We rest easy, knowing that most of the time, we won't be judged.

I understand what you are saying. We have the people around to try and liven it up but certain things DO NOT allow that to happen. I definately feel your pain. That is why I spend my time in the silly forum. It is lively and fun most of the time.

Well, some people enjoy causing distress. Others - maybe their friends and family don't want to hear their complaints so they take it here where they're more likely to find an understanding and caring person. I know I've often found that to be true.

although i agree with that? i keep forgetting that the people who actually post are in the minority and that there are many many lurkers on this forum that are also reading this. and its why from now on i dont plan on being as open as i have been before. of course its nice to vent to friends here but from now on i'll do my venting in pm and always ready to lend a listening ear to all my friends here also.

I think that recent events have gotten people afraid to loosen up, for fear of being accused of hijacking. Nobody wants to risk punitive action. So all we're left with is somber discussion.

I had the same concern....but it hasnt changed my posting habits...so lets all lighten up and have some fun....

The hijacking that concerns the mods (I think) is the type that turns a thread into a playground for 2 or 3 people to flirt and play with one another turning it into an entirely different one than envisioned by the originator....

For that you can start your own thread in the silly forum...there are hundreds..... There is no need to turn each thread in Gen dis into that type of banter....doesnt mean we can't have fun here folks...

I couldn't agree more-I only hope it's being handled across the board and including the ones that are NOTORIOUS for hijacking. And there are a few of them.
