I am of course reffering to the real vertion of Capt Kirk, played by Emmy award winning actor William Shatner, not the nobody who played him in the new J.J. Abrams Faux Trek: Abomination...

They use to say if mankind could fly, he'd have wings, but he did fly. He discovered he had to. Do you wish that the first Apollo mission hadn't reached the moon, or that we hadn't gone on to Mars and then to the nearest star? That's like saying you wish that you still operated with scalpels and sewed your patients up with catgut like your great-great-great-great grandfather used to.

I'm in command. I could order this, but I'm not because Doctor McCoy is right in pointing out the enormous danger potential in any contact with life and intelligence as fantastically advanced as this, but I must also point out that the possibilities - the potential for knowledge and advancement is equally great. Risk! Risk is our business. That's what this starship is all about. That's why we're aboard her.

Worlds may change, galaxies disintegrate, but a woman... always remains a woman

There is another one from the Naked time where Kirk talks about Yeoman Rand, and uses the expresion "No Beach to Walk On." but I can't find it on the IMDB.com and I don't want to risk miss spelling anything. It is such a cool quote.

Excuse me… Excuse me. I’d just like to ask a question… What does God need with a starship?

War is instinctive. But the instinct can be fought. We're human
beings with the blood of a million savage years on our hands! But we
can stop it. We can admit that we're killers ... but we're not going
to kill today. That's all it takes! Knowing that we're not going to
kill today!............

All good stuff. The Khan yell and Why does god need a star ship are two of the best lines in the history of the movies.

From Star Trek 2:

"Sir, may I ask you a question?"
"What's on your mind, Lieutenant?"
"The Kobayashi Maru, sir."
"Are you asking me if we're playing out that scenario now?"
"On the test, sir. Will you tell me what you did? I would really like to know."
"Lieutenant, you are looking at the only Starfleet cadet who ever beat the no-win scenario." (points at Kirk)
"How?"
"I reprogrammed the simulation so it was possible to rescue the ship."
"You what?"
"He cheated."
"I changed the conditions of the test. Got a commendation for original thinking. I don't like to lose."
"Then you never faced that situation. Faced death."
"I don't believe in the no-win scenario." (flips open communicator) "Kirk to Spock, it's two hours. Are you ready?"
"Right on schedule, Admiral. Just give us your coordinates and we'll beam you aboard."
"All right!" (to Saavik) "I don't like to lose."

"Of my friend I can only say this.....of all the souls I have met in my travels.....his was the most......human."

Yea I agree. I like when he says "I dont like to lose" I included the rest as I think it illustrates how Kirk thought. A true Patton like mind which is what I loved about him.

Kirk1: "I can't believe I kissed you." :sarcasm:
Kirk2: "Must've been your lifelong ambition." :Kiss2:

Just about everything he said...

Examples.....
Go climb a tree... as he said to Kor in TOS.

Out there. Thataway!

Of all the souls I have known in my travels, his was the most....... human!

The word, is no. I am therefore going anyway!

Klingon bastards... You Klingon bastards you've killed my son! You Klingon Bastard!

Well the double dumbarse on you!

What does god need with a starship (good question. I won't answer.)

Second star to the right! Then straight on till morning!

But the best?

I (kick) have had (kick) enough of YOU! (kick's Kruge into a disintegrating Genesis planet)
