Yes, that's right. Drew70 is across the pond in merry old England! I'll be staying in this grand city for the next week or so, right down the street from Her Majesty. Ah, but it's a marvelous place. I dig the architecture and the sense of history. So far, I've yet to meet any native Brits, only Pakistanis and other moslems, but come Monday, when I get down to business, that will all change.

I'm hoping to have tea this afternoon with Sir Paul McCartney, but I shan't be holding my breath, don't you know? :blaugh:

Well now, mustn't dawdle. Pip pip! Cheerio, and all that sort of rot!!

Remember, you represent us all; and England is one of few remaining allies we have so no climbing on Stonehedge (I know it is not in London).

Seriously, hope you have a nice visit and bring me back something from Harrods.

LOL Pip pip! I hope you enjoy your stay :)

A small piece of advice......... The "underground" is not a political movement It's what we call a subway over here Maybe you'll get to meet the infamous Red Indian in person

Well only about 1/10 of the Brits living in London are Muslims, so I'm not sure how you've managed to avoid the other 90% of us Drew. ;) Although I suppose you are in the city centre. I hope you enjoy your time here anyway.

Bellystrokes is right you know – try not to get up to no good and cause an international incident over here, you don’t want to need a Barrister after getting banged up for a fortnight by the filth cause you were nicked in the nip by a bobby catching you tickle-cheating on your trouble and strife with some cracking Julie in the tower. And stick to the right (or left) side of the road, we don’t want you crashing into Buckingham palace, Gaaaawd bless the Royal family. Remember to steer clear of the lorries on dual carriageways and try not to run over too many sleeping policemen too. Navigating the redroutes might prove ruddy tricky actually so you might want to just hop on a double decker. Or you could suss out how to use the tube instead. You could even try walking, although the weather’s getting jolly shirty at the moment so you should probably take a brolly in case it starts pitching it down by whilst you’re wandering about billy no mates. And if you start feeling peckish then could always try out a Yorkshire pudding, chip buttie or fried mars bar – absolutely spiffing – although you might need to spend some time spending a penny on the loo afterwards. And that’s no pork pie and a bag of trout.

Okay, I’m done. Cor blimey.

Just remember to have cucumber sandwiches with the crusts cut off lol :)

Hope you enjoy your stay and that you don't think that all us Brits are stuck up our own 'wotsits' and rather down to earth folk when you get to know us (well some anyways) :veryhappy

LMAO :dogpile:

Oh mercy, thanks for reminding me, David, yes Drew, they drive on the other side--I was going to say wrong, but I dont want to start in international incident---and speaking of which, "and the underground is not a political movement" had to be the funniest thing I read this morning. heeheh

That quote I used is from the movie A Fish Called Wanda One of the funniest movies ever

I go to University in London; wonder what the chances are that I'll catch ya there. :)

An elevator is called a lift.

A shopping cart is called a trolley.

French fries are called chips.

That's it. That's all I know...

Being a commonwealth of Britain and all, I'm ashamed that my British linguistic skills are sorrily lacking.

Stupid Canadian educational system.

Why the hell didn't they just teach us how to make pipe bombs in social studies class like I requested? :disgust:

I envy you Drew,i hope to visit Olde London Towne before i leave this world.

The Tower, the Museum of Natural History, the Imperial War Museum,Westminster Abbey,i could go on and on.....

Today, I visited Westminster Abbey and got a good up close view of Big Ben. I thought DC had some pretty impressive archetecture, but London has some really spectacular things to see. The art and the detail in these old edifices is breath-taking.

Shire, it would be great to hook up with you and/or any other TMF'ers over here. I may be free later this week, possibly Saturday. I'll have to see how things go. Slap'n'ticklee, I don't find Brits stuffy or unapproachable. Quite the contrary, I've found them on the whole to be very polite, considerate, well educated, and friendly people. :)

How come you're calling us F'ers? What the hell we ever do to you? :jester:
Be sure and visit Holland Park in my honor, ok? ;) Hell, bring me home a t-shirt...
Have a blast honey, I'm soooooooooooooo jealous!
XOXO

Bugger & Blast

Glad to see it's a jolly good

for you so far!!! Hope you have enough time to see "everything" leisurely!!

(I'm assuming that's Big Ben... haven't been yet,
but the following may come in handy, though some are
well, questionable.... )

'Fraid I won't be able to meet up with you at the weekend, Drew. I'll probably be at slap'n'ticklee's house, in fact, which isn't in London. :) Midweek is the only times I'm there, e.g. Wednesday and Thursday, but I am based in Greenwich and don't know where you are.

Hope you continue to have a good time. :bump:

Glad you are enjoying it, Drew. Many Americans I've known tend to find us Brits quite offish or rude.
