what type of hair styles or cuts did you guys have back then when you were in High School?

this should be amusing 😛

Judging by your age you aren't that far removed. I graduated HS in 1981. My style was parted in the middle, feathered back on top and the sides and the back was about 2" below my collar. The best person I can think of that was somewhat similar was Scott Baio (Chachi)on "Happy Days".

Mullet gullet!

I think we all, at one point or another, had The Mullet.

I was a huge Duran Duran fan, so as a teen in the mid-80s I also had the 'parted-in-middle' feathered 'do, as well as a slight mullet, much as DD's John and Andy Taylor did. Later on in high school, short hair was the fad, so I followed...I wish I would have let it groooow, though. Never a perm--eew!

I'd be interested to know if anyone here actually had the Flock of Seagulls 'do...

As a "Joisey "chick

doing High School in the early 90's I had the requisite "Jersey Mall Hair" teased, bangs curling ironed to DEATH so high that getting into cars could be a pain, and so much hairspray that it stood by itself in 30 mile an hr wind! 😉 and do not even THINK of lighting a match by it.

I also did the spiral perm craze.. would save up 50 or 60 bucks to get it permed, until one disasterous perm in 93, when the hairstylist left the perming lotion on too long and it literally BURNED and ATE my hair.. I had to get near waist length hair cut to above my shoulders!!
:sowrong:

Since that time I've made due with a curling iron and the wavy hair that nature gave me

Ghostie

in high school i had the fade, with blonde highlights and spiked a bit in the front.

Remember Freddie Prinze from "Chico & The Man"? I was his identical twin back in high school, except with more zits. (Thank goodness for dermatologists).

The Farrah Fawcett. Took forever to get ready everyday and a truckload of hairspray!

XOXO

Out of 104 girls in my graduating class, 101 had the same basic style. Parted in the middle, no bangs and as long and straight as you could get it. The ones with curly hair found a ways to use their own heads as rollers since soup cans wouldn't straighten it enough.:sowrong: Mine was hip length and natually as straight as a pin, a lovely auburn shade I've yet to duplicate over all this grey. Too much tickling gives you grey hair?😱

Well, I wore high-top fades, not like Kid N Play, but more like Big Daddy Kane. Then I had half of my fade colored honey blond😀

naw Dave(shylittleme)

i had my hair on the sides faded in with the hair on the tops. Although i have thick hair, i mainly keep it short all over with my sideburns/beard that is growing now. i just dont have the blonde highlights anymore, i figure i can save the 45 it cost to get it done and spend it on my car.

LOL~You're such the total GUY Jeffy! 😛
XOXO

9 Inch Spiked Mohawk..

With two tails that hung to my ankles.
When I wasn't wearing that usually corn rows.

I had a great, magnificent coffee brown mane that was as thick as a styled afro. It was beautiful...the hairstylists back in those days used to fight each other over who got to do my hair. Incredible.
Today, all that hair's a mere memory. Now, I get haircuts from Mrs Knox, using a Conair trimmer, set to zero zero, and I then take an old Norelco and shave it down to bare skin, and I go around looking like Jesse Ventura. I get great looks from the opposite sex, but shaving my head on a regular basis can get tedious, so it grows out again until I start the cycle anew.
That old thick hairdo from High School could've been considered a fire hazard...
😉
