All in all, it didn't turn out so bad. We went to our friend Cori's house, where her folks and her boyfriend's parents had come in for a feast. I'm not usually comfortable doing the parental unit thing 😉 but these folks were VERY cool.
Everyone surprised me after dinner with a decorated birthday tiramisu, which of course, I can't really eat but I had a couple bites to make 'em all happy...Cori and her guy rent a duplex in billionaire row, along the riverfront so I spent a long time enjoying the view of the property and lovely surrounding homes as I meditated and sipped my wine by the pool~the first real alone time I'd had all day, really, it was so nice...
We came home and watched a few episodes of Season One, Nip/Tuck (one of my faves) had a couple more drinks and fell asleep...
I woke up to a loudly snoring man 😀 so I took a blanket and quietly snuck out into the front room where I crashed out on the couch and woke up to a beautiful fire in the fireplace and my newest family member, baby Jack, who was snuggled in my arms. (He bears an eerie resemblance to the kitty in Mimi's pic actually~thank you so much darlin'~looks like you're going into the right field, you psychic sweetie pie!!🙂 )
