Happy Birthday to Me and Mimi!

If I was reading it right, its not just my birthday today, the 24th of August, its also Mimi's birthday.

I accept checks, money orders, and cash. Although, I would rather that you don't send cash. Sometimes the bills get a little wrinkly and weather-beaten. You see, when I go to the gas station I need to put in crisp new bills into the ATM machines, as see, those wrinkly ones just won't go in all the way or the machine doesn't accept them at all.

There was this time when...oh right...the thread.

Give me money or eat poo and die! 😡

Blerg, nope. My fault! I read your post wrong. When you said 'tomorrow', I assumed you meant the 25th (which is today, now....confused yet??), which is my birthday. Instant headache.

A very happy belated birthday to you, Celtic. Hope it was wonderful! Sorry for the mixup. Hopefully I will survive mine today without too many new wrinkles!

Thank you. 🙂 It was ok. Birthdays sort of lost their appeal when I was a child. Theres not so much an emphasis on presents anymore, as naturally I grew out of toys. I don't even want video games anymore.

I didn't really get anything for my birthday because theres nothing that I really want right now. And if there was, I could but it myself.

Honestly though, the best gift someone could give anyone is prayer. To pray for that person, their needs, and their troubles. Thats the most awesome gift you could give someone, I think.

@ everyone else- I'm personally pleased that I was able to finish this one request that I had recieved some time ago by a member of my yahoo group.

I'm really happy with how it turned out, and certainly I've outdone myself again. ^__^

Also, I hope no one minds me putting it here, but since I mentioned it, and I know alot of people don't even go to the artwork sections here, I'll bring the update to you. Hopefully it can be considered a special exception on where its supposed to go.

I finished this picture last night, while it was still technically my birthday, but I didn't put my initials and date on it yesterday, since by the time I had put the finishing touches it was already past midnight.

Anyways, I'm very proud of how this picture came out, even though there were a few nagging things about it that kept bothering me throughout the process. The main thing was InuYasha himself. Since I have little to no experience drawing male characters, it made it difficult. I'm also not used to drawing two characters in one picture. So angles and such and how close they were was taken into consideration even more so.

Anyways, this is my first time drawing either of these two characters or anything from this series. I hope I did them justice.

This was a request made by a member of my yahoo group, and while I switched some things around, I sure hope he enjoys it when he sees it, and I hope you do too.

I call this one "Haste To The Festival" as InuYasha is carrying Kagome to a nearby festival thats about to begin. 🙂

P.S- This picture is much larger in byte size than any of my other pictures, even if they were colored. This is due to the quality and details, the colors, and to the background. Please be patient if for some reason the picture takes a while to display. Its well worth the wait. Thank you. ^__^

What program? Well, first off, in case there was any doubts about it, I draw all of my pictures by hand. None of the lineart is done on the computer.

The CG coloring is. And the program I used was regular old Paint Shop Pro 7. ^___^

I don't have enough money to invest into Photoshop. Its just too much money. Hundreds of dollars. I remember seeing it once at Best Buy for about $400.00! FOUR! Can you believe that?! Thats nonsense. I can get the results I want with this program, and I paid about only a quarter of what Photoshop would cost, for it.

And I haven't even begun to master this program. So I'm sures theres plenty more I could do with it.

Awww, thank you. But really, its not as hard as it looks. Anime and manga style inparticular is very impressive visually and the artistry is grand.

That can make it seem really intimidating, especially when you throw in everything else which makes the genre so good.

Want to know whats ironic about it though?

This style is actually the easiest I have seen to get used to. I've seen people that couldn't draw something good if their life depended, change in about a few months time and draw moderately well.

The point I'm trying to get to steph is that anyone can draw. Its a learned skill, and some just have a natural apptitude for it and sense.

I'm sure that if you honestly tried you could make something of it and get really good.

If you don't mind, I'd like to see one of your "stick figures" some time. 🙂

Compared to what I do it's crap?

Let me tell you something sweetheart, my art here doesn't get as good a review as I would like. Because the bulk of what I draw isn't even tickling related, I'm sure that puts me at the bottom of alot of people's list. While I find that rather narrow-minded and selfish, I do realize that this IS a tickling site, and if I'm not giving the majority what they want, then I might as well be drawing crap too.

I know I'm good. No doubts there. But trust me, in some ways, I am no better off than you are. And I mean that in a reassuring way. Just because some people like my work doesn't mean everyone does. And I have the disadvantage of appealing to a people that expect certain things from me, as this site, and other sites within the tickling community are concerned. And when I do not deliver that, I slowly continue to disinfranchize myself from the community. Or is it them disinfranchizing me? Either way, I'm feeling it now more than ever, and I question why I'm here.

Sometimes I....feel like a failure. But then I realize its not my problem to begin with, but its still not a good feeling.


I'm sure that in your own ways steph you are even greater than I am in your art.

I've considered doing comissions, but really, who would pay me to draw them something? I've had people approach me before, but when serious talk about doing it came about, they chickened out.

As far as my b-day, well it started out good, but ended on a low note. Its something I really don't want to discuss in public. Its not some horrible nasty secret or anything, but its something best shared with an individual as opposed to a group.
