I think that the 1st part of the movie was very good! 😀 I really like the fact that it's divided into two parts, because now they could have stuff in it that they wouldn't have otherwise, because of it's length.

I hate when they take away many important och funny stuff just to fit in the movie time length, but they didn't have to do it here. 😀 Or well, they did it a few times, but not as much as usual. And of course they had changed many details from the books, but that's how it is with movies, right? :S xD

I could go on more, but I'd like you to answer a few questions, to get a discussion going. 😉 So:
Have you seen the movie?
What did you thought of it in that case?
Did you like that they divided it into two parts, or would you rather have one, shorter part?

well, I thought the book could really do without the faffing-about section in the middle, but then again, I'll have to see the films to make more definitive statements about this.

I think I missed a chunk... The last one I remember had people running through a big maze and some dude turned into a fish.

Big fan of the books, not so much of the movies. I haven't seen this one yet, probably next week I'll go, but I suspect it will be good 🙂

I probably would have seen it eventually, but hadn't planned on rushing out to see it opening weekend. Then I heard that the trailer for Green Lantern premieres before the movie, and purchased a ticket for this Saturday immediately. 😀

JUST saw it. I'm actually quite pleased at the way it turned out, though my crew and I all agreed that we would have gladly stayed and watched the second film even if it was just as long as part 1. We all went dressed as characters from A Very Potter Musical and many others were dressed for the occasion as well (saw a great Death Eater costume). Some guy behind me started cracking up near the end of the movie at one of the most emotional points in the whole series. I'll neglect to say what it was so no accidental spoilers are revealed for those who haven't read the book, but once you see the film, you'll know. Right after Luna said something he just started cracking up and showed no sign of stopping. I was seriously pissed off, how the hell do you laugh at something like that.... heheh, sorry, had to get that off my chest. Anyway, I loved where they ended, it was a great place to stop and leave you wanting more... though as an audience member I seriously just didn't want it to end.

Im glad so many people posted 🙂

Okay. 🙂 Yeah, it was a bit annoying to not be able to see the entire movie. Still I think it's worth it. 'Cause I want to movies to be as long as possible. 😛

Cool. 🙂 Me and my friends kind of dressed up too. 😀 I was Hermione. 😉

I think I know what scene you meant, it's very sad indeed. I can't believe he laughed :S

I liked the end too. During the end I was annoyed 'cause I didn't wanted it to end there, but when I thought about it later, I liked where it ended. 🙂

I just saw this today and I was quite please. Can't wait for the second one.

Josh and I got interviewed for the news before we went to the movie about it all too.

😀

I just saw it today too...and LOVED IT! Anytime one of the Weasley Twins spoke, I nearly lost it (because I had seen some of the previews). They did such a fantastic job on some of the scenes, but they really should have just left it as one movie instead of two. Throw in an intermission, for crying out loud!

Ah, Harry Potter and the Long Ass Camping Trip. I was wondering how that would turn out...

Lol...that could have been shortened just a little bit!

I read the books and liked them. I haven't liked all the films. I saw this last night at midnight and I don't regret it. I'm seeing it twice more this weekend and I'm going to Orlando to see the park 🙂 This time around, I really think they did a decent adaptation. It did drag a bit, but they covered a good bit of the action sequences quite nicely. And yes, I'll line up to see part 2 at the midnight showing next summer - no costume, though. I admit I pulled out the kleenex at the end, even knowing what was coming.

I'm seeing this tonight. Soooo excited 😀 I've read all the books and seen all the movies that have come out so far. I've been told it's really good, so will report back here tomorrow in relation to the original questions.

I saw it at the midnight showing with all the Potter fanatics. It was fun actually.

The movie itself is the second best of the ones released so far.

I saw it yesterday, it was great! Loads better than the previous 3 movies now that they can spread it over two parts. It of course had it's dodgy moments like any Potter movie, but overall it's awesomesauce! 😀

Cool 🙂
At least then you're cooler than me. 😉 I had to try really hard not to cry in the scene in the beginning when Hermione was about to leave her house. xD Just the thought of leaving your family like that...

Which of the movies do you think were the best in that case? 🙂

Nice 🙂

No, but how was it? Without giving away the plot....that is...

My favorite is the Prisoner of Azkaban, since Alfonso Cuaron directed it. I really like Cuaron's style.

That was my least favorite. He killed the style of the previous films and that one stands out as the most incongruous of the lot. The Goblet of Fire was my favorite of the seven films released so far.

You're not alone. Critics liked Azkaban a lot, but actual fans of the book series didn't like it very much.

While I have read all 7 of the books and consider myself a Potter fan, I'm actually more of a film fan overall. I prefer Cuaron's style because of movies like Children of Men. He admittedly was an odd choice for a Potter movie director, but I think he could've actually done a better job than his successors had he wanted to continue the series.

I think the fact that his movie stands out in style is less a mark against him than it is just the fact that the producers and fans preferred a return to Columbus's style.

With the way that each book gets progressively darker, I figured Cuaron was actually well suited for the series -- especially for the last 2 books. Granted, I've enjoyed Yates's work so far.

I don't hold it in the highest effort. Simply, because it was a typico, now too the finale. This was more of a made-for-home-video edition, and should have been home - watching it in my spare time. That's just me, but I am looking for the final end!
