Have you ever converted someone?

Well, I didn't really convert anyone, however in a way I converted my wife into taking more ticklings than she ever took, if you count it as converting😀

I hear a lot of complaints from guys on this thread who have wives/gf's who hate being tickled, or just aren't into it. And I've dated more than my share of those women, and it usually doesn't last very long, for that very reason. My question is, has anyone ever converted someone from the "I hate tickling crowd" to one of us? Is this even possible? At best I would think you might switch a "tickle-hater" into someone who can tolerate tickling, but not necessarily enjoy it. I remember reading an awesome true college story on another website(I think it written by Toyou) where a guy finds a beautiful, but snooty stuck-up sorority girl stuck under the stairs in the basement of their sorority house, and the lucky dude takes her down a peg or two by tickling her unmercifully. She's very ticklish, and at first she hates it(especially the feet) but after a while she starts getting into it, and enjoying it. I'm certainly not advocating tickling someone against their will, but this was an incredible story, and I'm just wondering if anyone else has had this kind of success in converting a "tickle-hater." I know I haven't.

actually that has happened but only once,, she answered an add i had out there lol dont you love getting responses in regards to an add you forgot you posted? anyway this girl i met was very open to many things and was extremely open minded,, we met for drinks at green valley ranch casino and hotel where i work, after 2 or 3 drinks we decided that it would be more private if we sat in her car,,after about 10 or 15 min of conversation she started teasing me asking about tickling with this excited expression on her face, i had her put her feet up in my lap while i took off her shoes and socks,, ( white keds with white ankle socks ) i was happy to see that she had very well shaped feet, extremely clean and soft,, and omg! was she ticklish!screamed her head off! but the thing i tottaly liked was that she kept her foot still while i tickled her half to death! she was redfaced and laughing but diddnt kick me in the head! ( which is a plus! )after about 20 min of my tickling her feet and sucking on her toes ( which drove her crazy as well) she wanted to give me the same treatment! she had me lay back with my feet in her lap and omg! you could see how excited the idea was making her! she was verbally teasing me while wickedly stroking my soles and toes! saying " whats wrong charles?? are your feet ticklish?? " or " does that tickle?? she had me absolutely hysterical! and she enjoyed it big time!,,, afterwards she said it was the funnest date she had ever been on,, every once in awhile i get an e-mail from her from wherever she happens to be at ( travelling for work across the country ) she will always say how much fun she had laughing and forcing me to laugh! she even put tickling refferances in her profile after our date : )

but Dan and Ayla, along with Meems and Lazzie, Tummy and Rio, and others , you're one of the TMF's successful ticklelove stories, and I get all shivery( and somewhat happily envious it has to be said) when I hear you guys declair your love for eachother..

Here's hoping my LD relationship( both of you guys know the person of whom I speak) works out just as well, tho we have a BIT more distance to contend with! 😉

I realize that this post was to Dan and Ayla, but, I can vouch that LD relationships *can* work as long as you are also willing, at some point, to be together. I lived in Atlanta, Rio in Seattle when we first started growing together (sounds like some some scientific experiment gone awry). We were both dedicated to making it work, so it did. Of course, this was before the time of AT&T's one rate plan where you get unlimited long distance for $19.95, so I had a $600 a month phone bill for a couple of years, not to mention air fare for visits!.. sheesh.. Love is expensive!! heh..
Just remember for a LD relationship to really work, there will eventually be a time where one of you will need to move to join the other. It's worth it for sure. Those dreams of being together have to also have a plan and goal for becoming reality face to face. Almost any expert will tell you that a LD relationship only works on a temporary basis. There may be some exceptions to the rule where people have life long LD relationships, but I would think that's extremely rare. Just be willing to do whatever it takes to make your own happiness. You can do it! Believe it with all your heart, set goals, take baby steps, work toward your true love daily, and it absolutely *will* happen.

As to your post, that is a very cool story of meeting someone. It doesn't seem though, that she was/is someone who hated tickling and then, through your efforts, developed a love for it. It sounds like she may have been mainstream vanilla with an interest, or even secretly a fetishist when she answered your ad. Am I missing something here? Great story anyway though.

Ghost2004 and TummyDragon, thank God for Travelocity and unlimited long distance! they go a long way toward keeping me sane!

I don’t think we’ve gone more than 12 hrs w/out talking to each other, for well over a year now. there really is something to be said for talking… talking… and talking. I can honestly say that he is the ‘best friend’ I can tell everything to, as well as the growly man who can make me melt at will. but, at the same time, we are both staunch realists who realize that there will be sacrifices and adjustment to made. we also have no doubt that they will be well worth it!

and I met him at NEST 2003, you people on the gathering fence. 😛

you may be righr bro,, she seemed to take the tickling thing and run pretty quick with it lol! maybe that encounter was all it took for her to feel comfortable with it,,,now,, if i can only get her to visit vegas : ) ( shes always out of state on work )

Unless the person already has latent ticklephile tendencies, I think the chances of converting someone is slim and none. I think you either have it, or you don't. Please someone prove me wrong!

I didn't exactly "convert" a friend of mine but I did show her that tickling could be quite fun.

Back when Yahoo had a good chat system, I regularly hosted a tickle chat room. One night a lady entered the chat room and she was curious as to what we would be talking about.

We chatted several times and she professed to hate tickling because she was tickle-tortured as a child. Every tickling experience she had was one-sided... the tickler didn't care about her feelings as long as he got to make her laugh.

We eventually spoke onthe telephone and she allowed me to "cyber-tickle" her over the phone. She wanted to see what I was talking about and she wanted to hear my vocal inflections.

I eventually drove cross country (moved from New Jersey back to San Diego) and we met along the way. We spent the day at an entertainment complex having fun and seeing if we were comfortable with each other.

From there, we spent the night tickling each other. She had to officially admit to herself that tickling can be fun if BOTH parties want it to be fun!

We have since met three more times for weekend tickling encounters. She does not have the "tickle fetish" and doesn't meet with other guys for tickling but she LOVES to meet me for tickling encounters. We both have a lot of fun tickling and being tickled.
